So I finally purchased some Microsoft points to be able to download some content thats not free. However the least expensive points are 1600 for $20. So I decide to check out some classic arcade games as soon as I registered my code. So I was browsing through the list and two of some of my favorite games caught my eye. Alien Hominid, and Street Fighter 2. I was pleased to see the online functions of both games and some new features as well. However when I checked their price points, both cost about 800 points. Thats about half of my points, so Microsoft wants 10$ for both of these games? An arcade fighter that launched in 1990, or an old Newgrounds flash game? Both of these games for 20$? Those weren't the only things that were expensive all of these oldschool games with very little innovation from it's original format were also sold at high price points.
Am I the only one thinking were getting ripped out of some of our favorite classic games, or is it just me?

its because of royalities from the origional game makers, and because they know you will stil buy it.

Yeah, the points are crazy. I think it has mostly to do with the enhancements on the game (making it with better graphics and getting it on the 360). Like I played Super Contra Trial today and it had all of these extra graphics that wasn't in the original (I have original on nintendo). Still though they could lower it down.
***If you want 1600 Microsoft Points for $4.99 and haven't pre-ordered H3 yet then go to the link below. There's also free shipping (Ground only). It says it should arrive sometime around 9/25-10/1. ***

Yeah I agree, and thousands of other people do as well. I read an article a few weeks back on how Microsoft is ripping people off with the Microsoft points/downloads. A few company's (including GoW) were forced to make there downloads cost Microsoft points instead of free. GoW and the other company's were wanting to put some of there stuff in the downloads for free, but microsoft said no they had to charge for it. I know some new maps GoW were wanting to put up for free but couldn't. There was a lot of other crazy things in the article like that, so yeah they are deffinetly ripping everyone off. Personally if Halo wasn't on Xbox I wouldn't have purchased a 360, that and Oblivion were the only games I played on the Xbox....
Even if they did change a few graphics on the arcade games, its just a download....Your not getting a disc, case, or anything like that. So yeah there making a lot of money off of those arcade games and they are WAY over priced for downloads.

I have bougth 4,000 MS points used about 3,000, I got Sonic, Golden Axe, a little rhino logo, a 3song download for GH2, Cloning Clyde, and Marble Madness all that for about $35. I think that is a rip off especially for how old the games are. I could get an emulator for the pc for free to play them but I was hoping I could do some multiplayer on live still might then it might be worth it more. Some kids buy every one of the arcade games that come out as well. Maybe if you care about your gamerscore you might like them more Idon't know.
