I keep getting this warning that says my NAT type is too strict or something and that I should change it to open...anyone know how I could do that?

www.portforward.com look up your router. Then look up halo. It should show you details with step by step pictures on how to open up your NAT. Your NAT restricts who u can play with. If its strict you really cant join many parties and many people cant join you. When its open you can pretty much join any party and anyone can join yours. Go there look it up. If you need any help. 850-376-0361 call my cell. Ill help you out.

If you're still having problems, what is the model of your router? All you might need to do is update the firmware and I can check into this for you.

Rocket look into this. I have a linksys Motorola WG850. When i have 2 xboxs on there it automatically goes to strict and moderate. Other than that its fine.

Hmm...GamePlayer, your router isn't on the XBL Compatible list (which doesn't mean it won't work, but it's just not guaranteed from testing) and I also couldn't find many people that have the same model as you. I think you're best bet is to put one of the Xbox's IP Addresses on a DMZ (try the Strict one first). Other than that, if Port Forwarding didn't do it for you then you're out of luck I'm afraid. Sometimes, you just can't get routers to work. It's how they're setup.

I had that same problem on my original Xbox, but all I did was just reset my router and I was fine.

Go buy a new one and make sure it's XBL Enabled this time loser :P

you have to contact the router manufactuerer. thats what i got off the internet. i had that problem a while ago. and if i really wanna play with someone that bad and my NAT prevents me. i go from xbox to modem directly. the NAT is in the router.if you skip the router completly, then there is no problem, :)

peice of crap...i tried and i have no freakign idea what i am doin, maybe when i play i will just go straight from the modem to the xbox.

even though there are more people than me in the house so im not sure how long that would last.
