The BCS: Take your picks! But should the system be changed?

First of all, I hate the BCS! I love college football...but i hate the fucking BCS's system for choosing a national champion. They pretty much the choose the rankings themselves based on voting, conference info, and crap like that. It's not always the best two teams that play for the national championship. This year, it's Louisiana State vs Ohio State in the Title game. I'm fine with that selection, some of the other ones are crap.

No. 13 ranked Illinois gets the Rose Bowl, even though they were only 9-3.
No. 6 ranked Missouri was left out of the Orange bowl and No. 8 Kansas got there instead, even though Missouri beat Kansas and played a tougher schedule.

Every damn year somebody gets screwed over. Quite frankly, i believe they just take the top 8 teams and have a play-off.

But anywho, go ahead and make picks if you're a college football fan.

I agree, MYK. The BCS is a load of crap. I'm so pissed that LSU got in before many other teams.

It pisses me off the most this year because MY Mizzou Tigers got screwed!! We we're a win away from playing in the national championship game! And now they punish us by taking us out of the BCS all together!!

Answer me this though: Is Missouri one of the top two teams in the country? because how could you justify that with the fact that Oklahoma beat them not once, but twice I think LSU should be playing Oklahoma that would probably be the closest thing to a real national champ this year, but a playoff is the only way we'd really ever know

I never said that Missouri should be ranked in the top two now. I just can't believe that they still don't get a major bowl game. Think about it this way. LSU lost when they were ranked #1, got knocked down, but suddenly a win the following week makes this all better. While Missouri climbed it's way to the number 1 ranked, lost the last game of the season to OU, and now they don't get a BCS game.

I kind of understand LSU getting into the Title game, but i don't understand Illinois getting the Rose Bowl, nor Missouri missing the Orange Bowl.

LSU isnt the super team that ESPN sups them up to be, it is so stupid. No matter what they do they always seem to be perfection in football form...

and yes the BCS is a piece of crap, they just want to keep the money to themselves, it is completely obvious and they will never change it because there is way to much influence within the major schools, sad but true...

Damn Kansas!! They shouldn't have been there anyways! But I guess they prooved they deserved it by beating #3 VT. But still, I wanted Virginia Tech to crush Kansas.

Ah well...in the chapionship game, I got Ohio State beating LSU in a thriller: 37-35
