Why all the haters?

So I'm a user of the patriots.com message boards I have been for some time. But recently while we came close too the end of the perfect season and now into the playoffs hundreds of posts evey day are about how much the patriots suck.

Lets face it, if the patriots suck someone, anyone really could have beaten them this far. Yet no one has. So why does everyone in the freaken country hate us? Is it because we are perfect? I just don't understand.

Now I understand the whole camera/cheating bullshit, but honestly lets face it I'm sure at least half of the league did the same thing we did, we just got caught. Our leader(BB) admitted that he did not think what the team did was against the rules but if the league found it was he would accept the punishment. He could have fought it or even thrown other teams under the bus, yet he did not. He took the punishment and moved on.

The team doesn't talk trash about anyone, each and every week Brady gets on that mic and states how much he respects (insert team we faced that week). They never look past a game, they never even say they feel as if they will win. Even when someone makes the big play the celebration is less then other players/teams. Why? Simple, BB will kick their ass if he feels they excessively celebrate before a game is over.


So why America? Why do you hate us? You should admire perfection, not hate it.

i personally dislike them because Asante Samuel talked shit to Brain Billick in the middle of the game, i understand talking shit to other played but the opposing coach, thats just wrong

I don't care what Brady says. You can see it on the T.V. He seems like he's better then everyone else (not football wise but attitude wise). What especially pissed me off this year is that they got caught cheating and they thought they needed to prove something so they tried to embarass every team they faced (Meaning they could be winning by 30 points and still keep their starters in).

Yes, I will admit that I did dislike the Pats when they beat my Panthers in the Super Bowl BUT I didn't hate them. I don't hate them for being good but how they strut. I mean the Colts is an awesome team and back in the day Green Bay was good too with several other teams [Not including Cowboys (I hate the Cowboys as well. Sorry Ballin.:nah:>:])]. I didn't dislike those teams because they were good but instead respected them. Until I see a change in the Pats I really can't say that I will ever like or respect them.

P.S. Hope you have no hard feelings Envy but that's just how I feel about them. ;)

I should hate the Patriots because of what happened in Super Bowl XXXVI (Pats vs Rams) That was the game that boosted the Patriots onto the podium as the modern football dynasty....and my Rams have fallen to ruin ever since. :(

Actually there are tons of reasons. Brady's smugness is a big one. Just like Savage said, in the game after "spygate" (incredibly lame name given by the press, not me) they were beating the Chargers bad enough that they could have subbed people out, but they kicked their ass like they had something to prove. What did they have to prove? That they cheated their ass off and knew everything Phil Rivers was going to do next?

And finally, I hate them because just like last week against the Colts, everyone with a mouth and a camera is saying how they're going to dominate the Chargers. All I can say is if the Chargers can intercept Peyton 9 times this season, Brady should be sweating a little bit. And if the officials try and f*ck us out of the game this week like they did last, I'm going to go on a ref killing rampage.

Your points Cor are not valid. We did not "cheat", Chargers are a bunch of cry babies, refs blow calls all the time it has nothing to do with favortism too any team and there is no such thing as "running the score up" in professional sports.

Everyone loves to hate. How can you say a team sucks thats had a perfect season, broken the all time tuchdown passes in season, and all time tuchdown receptions in season. I am not a fan but i respect what they have done, they are an efing dynasty.

We're jealous of the Patriots because they have become this winning machine and we wish that our teams could be in that position. And we don't want to accept it, so we go on and make excuses.

I'm not really blaming the Patriots for the fall of my team. I'm just pissed at the position my team is.

i dont hate them anymore if anything i feel bad for them because no matter what they do i will always think of them as cheaters...because of what your coach did i think that it has tainted the patriots image for a lot of people.

as for now i am going for the chargers because they are a cali team and lorense (sp) O'Neil graduated from fresno state, and green bay because i like favre.

Plus, the spygate thing was only that very first game. Not that I'm saying "Oh, it was only one game. Its no big deal since they've won the rest of their games anyways." I just hate when people said they were doing it all season long. If they got caught right at the beginning of the season, would they really be dumb enough to continue it?

I do disrespect the Patriots FOR THE SPYGATE. I was very disappointed by that. I wish it never happened. But it did. And they came back for the next 16 games and won every single goddamn one of them. I greatly respect them for what they've done following the spygate. They've proven that they are one of the best, maybe the best team to ever play in professional football.

espn had a talk like this and put the best teams of the past against this years pats and the analysts said that the other teams would win, it was a steelers team, bears, cowboys, dolphins, and a niners team.

The point I'm trying to make is that the Patriots earned everything they have achieved. I'm not just referring to this season. I'm referring to the past seven years. If they win the Super Bowl this year as expected, that will give them four Super Bowl championships, all coming in a seven year span. They will be tied with the 49ers for most Super Bowl victories ever. And to go along with it, a perfect season. Tom Brady will be considered one of the great quarterbacks to ever play the game.

This franchise deserves to be praised for their greatness. But as fans of our own football teams, we have every right to "hate" them because they're taking all the glory that our teams could have. But does that mean that the Patriots deserve criticism? If you want to make excuses for their success, go right on ahead. It doesn't take away the Vince Lombardis in their trophy case. It won't take away the meaning of a perfect season.

...But imagine if they didn't win the Super Bowl this year. The season would be a failure. It'd be more of a failure than the other seasons where they have not won a Super Bowl in this decade. There's a burden on these Patriots to win this Super Bowl, because if they don't, it'll be remembered forever.
