BBC has finally released the identity of the new Dr Who as Matt Smith, the youngest ever to play the role.

Ive looked him up on wikipedia and by the looks of it hes a nobody, so i guess we wait and see if he fails, his series starts in fall of 2010

Too young. I'm sick of the way they're making him younger and younger. I didn't like Tennant, he pulls too many stupid faces and acts like a little kid after seeing his first Jim Carrey movie. This new kid is just gonna alienate the older fans in favour of selling toys to the fickle younger market.

I'm glad Russell T Davies is going though because he's a hack, and can't finish a story without resorting to some deus ex machina or happy-clappy love-conquers-all turd-fest.

Sorry to rant, but the media's obsession with making everyone young regardless of character gets me down. Bill Nighy is the only man alive who can play The Doctor to his full potential.

Im afraid i have to disagree with you horror i thought tennant was an amazing Dr and played it brilliantly, how ever choosing this young Dr is a risk that they are willing to take and I want to see it played out
