Yeah, I realize we have a thread on this already, but it's a tradition for me to make a poll for each major sports championship.

#1 Oklahoma vs #2 Florida, Thurday 8pm EST on FOX. I can't wait for this game! It's hard to pick the winner here. I've changed my mind like 12 times. But i think I'm sticking with Oklahoma. They don't mess around; they just keep laying it on you on offense, and they don't let down on defense. OU wins 45-31.

Like the Penn State vs. USC where they thought it would be a low scoring game and it turned out to be very high scoring. :P

#3 Texas, you know, that one team that beat OU...

Ha, I knew someone would bring that up. I think by the current system, Oklahoma should be in the Natn'l Championship Game. But that's the thing; we shouldn't have this system. It clearly screws the teams who lose late in the season. If you lose early in the season, it ain't so bad. There's an interesting trio of teams in the Big 12 that all finished 11-1 for the regular season: Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech. Each team played the other two, and each came away with one loss. Texas beat Oklahoma, who was #1 ranked at the time. Then, Texas Tech beat Texas, who was #1 at the time. Later, Oklahoma beat texas Tech, who was ranked #2.

That's the key trio of matchups, each team came away with a win and a loss, but the team the wins the latest of these matchups, Oklahoma, gets the benefit of the doubt. Really, in my opinion, Oklahoma deserves to be there as much as Texas, despite the fact that Texas did defeat OU head-to-head. Really, Texas Tech just threw a big monkey wrench in this whole thing when they somehow defeated Texas. If they hadn't have done that, Texas would be undefeated, the #1 ranked team, and we wouldn't have to argue about this. Damm you TTU!

I hate rankings. That's the bottomline.

I thought this game was boring. I know it was close but really neither team looked that good.

I thought the Texas-OSU game was intense and a great game. I watched about half of the OU-Florida game and was bored too pimp.

It so stupid that 3 different teams can honestly claim they deserve the title. Not having a playoff system is sooooo stupid.

I hate college football for two reasons,

1. There are too many fricken teams.

2. There isn't just one championship, there are several.

I just wanna see one championship so that team that wins can truly say they are the best.

Have we really heard any reason from the NCAA why they prefer the BCS system over a playoff system? I must have missed it, because I don't really understand what's so wrong about having a playoff in college football.

I think if there was a playoff of say, 8 teams, Texas might have won it all. I think they're better than Florida, OU, Utah, 'Bama, maybe USC (but that's a tough call, really). I tire of college football sometimes, but for the most part, I still love it as flawed as it is.

Oh and one more thing. It is so stupid that we all have to wait a month for the BCS bowl games and the National Championship. A playoff would solve that too. Sure, the season would end earlier, but I don't care. As I said, I tire of college football, simply because theres too much complaining (which is understandable) about teams that get snubbed. I thought Texas got screwed as much as anyone else does, but I was just getting so sick of hear people constantly whine about it. If the NCAA can throw that BCS garbage out the window, we wouldn't have that problem!

The BCS system makes TONS of money for everyone involved in it, that's the only reason it's still there. That's why all the games are sponsored and all the schools want in, they get loads of money for playing in bowl games, especially the top 5. All of the coaches hate it, none more than Mack Brown, they just haven't been able to overturn it yet.

Ah yes, I hate when the business factor comes in to play. To be fair, I don't blame them for that. I'm sure if I were in charge and I was aware of what kind of income that system can bring in, it'd be hard for me not to do it. Not that I'm arguing for the current system. It's just an unfortunate reality.

The money thing is b.s. If they let in 8 teams that is still 7 games. They would be more interesting IMO and probably bring in even more money by the time it got to the semi's and finals. All they would have to do is keep a rotation of what bowls get which round of games every year. There has been a lot of articles that have described this system and how it would actually generate more money for the NCAA and schools. Also the argument that this would keep the kids out of school for too long is also screwed up. NCAA BBALL tourney is longer and you do not hear anyone complaining.
