Gears of War 2 - CoD:World at War

Ok well I am getting a bit more than a $3 raise at work. So I will have quite a bit more extra money now. I was thinking of getting either Gears of War 2 or Call of Duty: World at War. Which ones do you think would be more worth getting, I am just mainly getting them for the multiplayer. Let me know what you guys think.

They're both extremely similar to their predecessors, so if you liked CoD4 CoD:WW will be a safe bet. Ditto for Gears.

HAHA well I loved the GOW multiplayer, how you could shoot someone's head off or blow them to pieces with the shotgun. But I can't stand how you can't TeaBag in GOW. That is like the art of mulitplayer gaming lol. But CoD kind of looks cool as well.

yeah, i recommend cod waw, i love that game, the multi player is kind of disappointing till you hit level 28, at least it was for me. Gears, I only play that for horde mode. lol and campaign, and the co-op campaign on cod is awesome!

I found deathmatch on GoW2 unplayable, it's just an endless series of chainsaw attacks, and it was really laggy. Seemed to have gotten worse than the first game somehow. Horde is awesome though, and campaign is fun.

Left 4 Dead is a great multiplayer game if you don't have that. Can be infuriating, but there's a ton of replay value. And versus with friends is hilarious.

I just had a guy come into my work who plays a ridiculous amount of video games. He told me he enjoyed nazi zombies or something on world at war more than the whole game of left 4 dead. Just found that kind of funny. I've never gotten into COD too much anyways.

I never really have gotten into COD either. I was thinking of GOW 2, but a lot of friends say that people are using a lot of glitches now, and its getting annoying. But I am thinking of maybe just getting COD. I mean I really only own 1 Xbox 360 game(Im pretty poor huh), I kind of want another one to play online.

go with CoD WaW its a really fun game and the Nazi zombies if really fun to play with friends and it last a long time. time just seems to fly by when you play that.

If it's a choice between Gow or WaW, I'd go with World at War. It has a great multiplayer platform that reminds me of the old days of Call of Duty. Left 4 Dead is also a great choice for online and solo play.

PERSONALLY I would get the new call of Duty, ive played the new Gears, and its not that great, the single player outshines the multiplayer in the new gears by far, so go try out the new CoD, or rent both of em and play em that way you know for sure if you want either of em after playing

Yea GoW2 wasnt that good on multiplayer theres a big cheating problem still.

im go against the grain here and say Gears.... i found WaW to be absolutely awful..now i don't like gears mulitplayer either but horde and the campaign make it a good buy for me...if you want a CoD game go with Modern Warfare and itll be cheaper...or you could wait for the next CoD game by activision coming out this year

Infinity Ward (makers of CoD, CoD 2, and CoD4) is making that one so I'm sure it will be top notch.

IMO, Gears is a better game, but the terrible balancing problems they are having with their multiplayer makes WaW my vote.

I'd say Gears just because I never have really liked any of the CoD games. The only one I thought was decent was CoD4 but other then that they are all garbage. I'm more of a Medal of Honor type person. :biggrin:
