Congratulations to OcR GimpTactics for being January's Member of the Month! OcR GimpTactics was until recently a staff member and after stepping down is now our newest MoM! Here's a little interview that I had with our very own MoM.
OcR OUPimp: Where are you from? How old are you? What do you do for a living?
OcR GimpTactics: I'm from Cambridge, England. I'm 27 and I'm a web developer.
OcR OUPimp: When did you first join OcR? How did you find OcR?
OcR GimpTactics: I joined OcR in either November or December 2007 after seeing a post by Savage on either HiH or H3F, I forget which. I'd been considering a couple of other Clans but after lurking on some communities, including OcR, for a few weeks I decided to apply.
OcR OUPimp: What (funny, exciting) moment sticks out in your mind when you think of OcR?
OcR GimpTactics: I think last year's post-Meadowlands hilarity was pretty specialist. Def provided one of my fave OcR quotes ever: "Get more double kills!" Other in-jokes have come and gone, but for some reason I think that one'll be with me forever. Sniping RocketR in the back of the head as he respawned in front of me was pretty sweet. Getting up for 6am to attempt the Vidmaster achievement and someone falls off their Ghost at the last minute.
Also, wow. WOW.
OcR OUPimp: Whats your favorite gametype to play with the clan?
OcR GimpTactics: I like being in bigger groups so BTB and Squad Battle is where I like to be. I'm a gangbanger. That's how I roll.
OcR OUPimp: What would you tell recruits or new members about OcR?
OcR GimpTactics: Don't eat yellow snow. Oh, wait... that's the wrong genre. Play nice with others, watch your Clanmates backs and Call of Duty is the spawn of Satan.
OcR OUPimp: Do you have any life goals, or career goals that you would like to share?
OcR GimpTactics: I like my work right now but I could always learn more. There's a lot of potential for growth and progression where I work which is the first time I've been able to say that. However, I'm now doing for a living what I used to enjoy as a hobby so that's totally rad. This may sound cliched but I would really like to finish my book and get it published.
OcR OUPimp: Is there anything about yourself that you would change?
OcR GimpTactics: I'd like to be able to finish something for a cha
OcR OUPimp: Do you have any shout-outs you want to give?
OcR GimpTactics: First up Savage for being the guy who brought me here in the first place. Envy, Rhino and McDohl who were OLs at the time and to Def who stepped up to the plate. The rest of the staff, RocketR and iLL for putting up with my innane chatter on AIM, Horror and Faith my fellow UK outcasts, Sick Mike and Crisis for making me improve my BR (it's a bit rusty again but practice makes perfect), to the other dudes who've rolled with me over the last 14 months and put up with my occaisional nights of gaming under the influence and to everyone who voted for me. Peace and ****ing. Believe.
Again congratulations to gimp and make sure to nominate/vote for February MoM!
