Here at SBG, we have a deep appreciation for the skill it takes to play Halo. It's been said by one of our Community VIPs that Halo 3 is an art, and we'd have to agree. However, for every artist out there playing Halo 3, there are ten thousand slack-jawed bullet magnets driving warthogs off of the cliffs of Avalanche or lasering themselves on their way through matchmaking so the rest of you can advance your way to Birdies and Gold Leaf.
It's a sad fact of life that for the elite to be the elite, someone has to suck. Today dear suckers, you get your chance to "shine" in all your "glory."
Yes, we here at SBG are declaring June a month of FAIL and celebrating all of you hopeless saps out there who know better than to throw a sticky grenade too close to a bubble shield, but do it anyway. Today we are announcing our Halo 3 FAILtacular FAILapalooza Showcase. A month long Halo 3 community celebration of the boneheaded things we've all done, with nifty* prizes* up for grabs.
We're giving you mooks two different ways to show off your 1337 skillz0rz - your best screenshots, and your best videos. Screenshot submissions will be taken from now until June 14th 2009 with winners announced during the week of June 15th. Video submissions will be taken between now and June 30th, with winners announced during the week of July 6th.
"Prizes:"
Prizes are the same for the Screenshot and the Video Contest:
First Place: One year of X-Box Live, and a copy of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial for the Atari 2600. We were going to give out a pre-order for Duke Nukem Forever, but that didn't work out as planned. Irony FAIL.
Second Place - 1600 MS Points and a copy of Barbie Horse Adventures for the X-Box (and yes, this is on the 360 Backwards Compatibility List.)
Third Place - Frankly, if you get third place in a FAIL contest, you have truly hit rock bottom. As a prime candidate for a life confined to a trailer park, your prizes shall be a Three Wolf Moon T-Shirt (http://www.amazon.com/The-Mountain-Three-Wolf-T-Shirt/dp/B000NZW3KC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1243220972&sr=8-1) (available in various sizes) and a new copy of Daikatana for the PC. Enjoy your own personal pit of despair citizen. May you find whatever peace you can through the power of Three Wolves.
