I'm with FoRk, great fights and action sequences, but the story needed some work. And Michael Bay seems to be under the impression that Shithed LaBurff and Megan Fox are more interesting than the transforming alien robots or the soldiers that fight alongside them. And Megan Fox looks like ass. I refuse to accept she's 'hot'.

I love the like slow motion zoom ins of megan fox. Completely unnecessary for movie purposes, but absolutely necessary for viewing purposes.

Didn't much care for the juvenile content with the stupid sexual jokes and random stupid mother. But I'd agree that the parts with the Transformers was "a-fucking-mazing". Optimus Prime is the shiznit.

I'ma have to go with FoRk on this one. I left the theatre pumped at all the action and effects and stuff and then in the car on the way back I thought "Wait... what?"


Leg humping Decepticon?
Random racial stereotype Autobots?
Transformers are capable of mimicking humans?
Deus Ex Machina moment with a vision of the Primes?
Sam Witwicky is Jesus (resurrected and bringing Prime back to life)?
Mrs Witwicky gets high?
The Fallen gets torn apart in seconds?

And there's more, much much more. But in spite of that I did enjoy the ride:

Optimus Prime kicked major arse and didn't see any need to pull his punches, he wiped the floor with Megatron and The Fallen. Also, this time around I was actually able to see most of the fight choreography and spot some actual martial arts being used as opposed to just two robots beating the shit out of each other while the camera shakes.

Jetfire was brilliant (although they missed a trick; he should have been a pirate ship).

Despite what I said above, I really liked the Twins' original ice cream van appearance and I actually did enjoy the small pet Decepticon for the most part.

I would like to have seen more of the other Autobots; they could have really done more with the other new additions (Arcee, Sideswipe, etc) rather than spend so much time with the meatbags.

Overall, I'd see it again despite its many flaws but I'll wait until it's out on DVD to rent. I don't own the first one and I don't see me picking this one up either (but I might buy some Transformers toys).

SUPER AGREE! It was like a little boys fantasy movie with the terrible sexual jokes and the super super irritating mom. Its like she was somewhat annoying/ funny in the first one then Bay thought, "lets just make this rediculous!"

But I would say the action was AMAZING, now if it wasnt for the continuous and irritating sexual jokes lol.

I can name dozens of more plot holes on top of Gimp's, which was my major problem. I don't have a problem with it being a bit far fetched, but some of the stuff made no sense and was just used to keep the movie going.

I agree with almost everything right there. I don't think its worth going to the theatre to see, but it is certainly a solid rental.

I think it was really aiming towards a younger audience with all the innuendos and everything. Those jokes can give you a laugh, but after a while they just get old. The action scenes and special effects were expected, and satisfying.

AS I'VE SAID, if you've seen the original G1 cartoons then you know why the plot makes no sense...Because the original cartoons made NO SENSE AT ALL. I mean, they com-PLETELY screw up continuity in those episodes! In one episode, Perceptor starts out working on Ironhide, then Ironhide disappears and reappears in battle IN SOUTH AMERICA, and when we come back to Perceptor he's fixing Powerglide instead!
