Whats up?
I plan to start a very huge clan battle: CLAN WARS.
Clan Wars is simple:
Two clans at a time. The clan that has more members in it will choose the level.
The level must be custom/community made.
Gametypes will be CTF and Slayer.
Whoever wins that round will move on to battle the next clan.
The two clans left will battle for The CWC, (Clan Wars Championship).
There will be two entries you can choose from- Alpha, and Omega.
Nothing special, just to seperate.
You can also choose team size, (4v4 is the smallest, 8v8 being largest.)
I will also try to get coverage, (Bunge.net, machinima.com, etc...)
Prizes could be awarded.
Think about it!

Your post was too ambiguous.
It seemed like an offer to participate, but at the same time it was too vague to tell.

ADVERTISING!!!!! Honestly we may be able to field some teams for this, how many team entries per clan?

Up to two teams, one for Alpha, and one for Omega.

Is there a website to organize the event and the participating clans?
How many clans will be participating?
Will the ladders be single or double elimination?
How many ladders are there? What are they?
What the hell is Alpha and Omega? Why did you choose Alpha and Omega? Why not Alpha and Beta?
What prizes will be rewarded? How are they being funded?
I'm sure there is more, but that is a good start.

Because Beta is too commonly used, plus, omega sounds better to me :P

This is like telling your friend about a great party youre having and then leaving out the fact that you want them to come:(

Perhaps he is just testing the waters to see if he gets a lot of interest in it from various sites. That way he does not waste anyone's time and more importantly his own trying to organize this. Just a guess...

Way to keep things optimistic, Rhino! Glad we have you around, lol.

Is there a website to organize the event and the participating clans? Not yet; in productiom.
How many clans will be participating? Unconfirmed.
Will the ladders be single or double elimination? Single.
How many ladders are there? What are they? Unconfirmed.
What the hell is Alpha and Omega? Why did you choose Alpha and Omega? Why not Alpha and Beta? Alpha and Omega because Beta is overated, and Omega makes it unique. Alpha being the start, and omega being the end/last.
What prizes will be rewarded? How are they being funded?
This is unconfirmed at the moment, but we are trying to have it like:
Grand Prize-
The entire winning clan will be awarded recon, and a reserved copy of ODST.
Runner Up Clan-
will recieve xxx Microsoft Points
I'm trying to get bungie, machinima.com, and a few others to sponsor this, and to give the awards.
I'll update this whenever more information comes.

Sounds sweeeeeet!
But got one question, could a Clan possibly do both 4v4 and 8v8?
Because I'm pretty sure this Clan will go with the BTB Retribution Team and I want a shot at this with our 4v4 Team. :D

Possibly; if the opposing team agrees.

Since OcR was on Bnet, we need a way to get bungie to sponsor this.

Sadly I don't foresee our being on Bungie as helping you get them to sponsor your tournament.
I recommend having a 4v4 ladder and an 8v8 ladder, not having both 4v4 and 8v8 in the same ladders.

wow! all i said was it'll be cool to have bungie as a sponsor so that we can have prizes.... I'm not saying that i can or will, it was just a suggestion to draw a larger audience.
Your making it seem like i said of the bat "bungie has agreeed to give the winning team recon"....
and i already have a groups of people that would like this to go through, prizes or not.
I already have brackets, and have told about 10 halo 3 websites already.

you said "I plan to start a very huge clan battle"
I'm not trying to be mean or anything (i'm sure none of us are) it's just that from reading your replies it started to sound as if you wanted to start some kind of online tournament holding company with everything including a website and major sponsors and prizes that you cant deliver, not an organized battle between a few clans.

no.
I just thought it sounded like a good idea, which was why i went through with it.
Just wanted to ante it up, with prizes.

Alright Sounds good Dudeman. Let us know when you have the tourney more set in stone. I am sure we can field some teams to test our skills against other clans, we are always up for a challenge. Every journey begins with a step.

Dudemanpeace, the problem that many people (including myself) are having is that you seem to be planning this event as you go, instead of getting it all planned out and organized BEFORE you started advertising it which is normally how tournaments are advertised. Once things are straightened out, I guarantee interest will rise.

What clans have you contacted thus far dudeman? I just checked out H3A and they are a forge community, I can't see them interested in playing our elite teams.
dudemanpeace
08-11-2009, 02:48 AM
alright.
Yes, H3A is mainly forge based, but some members are in clans of their own.
The HPC, head protection clan is one, as well as KSI.
I also posted on ForgeHub and a few of them are joining.
Digitalph33r's surviving forum has also agreed to partake.

Dudeman, if you can show us some prof that you have done all these things with making the charts (4v4 and 8v8), teams ladders and etc... then we might think about joining the clan war.

Please do not speak for the clan Airborne, you are not a member. Not saying you can't apply someday, but this is not your place.
Dudeman, keep inviting communities but so far, I can't see any clan you've invited besides KSI being glad to face a team of Generals.

That is good, because in the past we've had complaints for using our skilled competitive team against other clans in competitive matches, because the other clan didn't have as much talent in their roster. My worry is that if we win big, communities will stop showing up to matches.

Clan Wars is all about fun, so it doesn't matter rank or skill.
I'm a First Lt. and have owned generals and bungie themselves.
