Well guys, the time has come. The pre-season is over and the regular season will be starting over the next couple of days. I know there are some NHL fans over here at OcR and I want to know what you guys think about this season. Who's gonna go big and who's gonna go home? I think you already know my position (GO LEAFS GO) but I wanna know where you stand.

Also I'm thinking when the playoffs come in the spring we start a hockey pool, but thats pretty far off so we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

They looked pretty shaky in the pre-season. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though because of their really good history.

Hurricanes are gonna get close this year but I feel like its going to be between Pittsburgh, Boston, and San Jose.

I feel like the canes are going to take a cup in the next 3 years though.

The pickup of kessel on your leafs make them a threat for the lower half of the playoff bracket (6-8)

Boston is looking good. Realistically, I'm betting the pengs will meet up with Boston. But I've got to keep my wings up there.

I'm going to put some money on Boston, though it's disappointing that Kessel is gone.

We dont need Kessel, he was a one dimensional player. I loved how he could score, but I think most of his successes came from being on Savards line. Anyways, he wasn't the greatest defensive back checker. I'll take the 2 1st rounders any day of the week, but I hope we don't waste them at the trade deadline for some aging pro.

Anyways, Bruins have something to prove this year. If they dont win the cup, I'm going to lose all hope in life.

HOCKEYTOWN. How on earth could you go against us? We've got a 50/50 chance to make it to the Cup every year, and I don't even wanna get started on what Datsyuk would've done last postseason if he wasn't hurt during the playoffs.

And I absolutely know we are not talking about preseason in the NHL, or any sport for that matter.

Wings vs. Pens.......AGAIN.

We would have won if we had Datsyuk. END OF STORY.

Sad thing is, Buffalo has had the potential there a lot. They just haven't been able to put it together yet. Just like the Bills and those 4 straight Super Bowls in the '90s. :(

I agree man.

I caught some pre season Sabres action this year. They look solid, but I don't think they'll have what it takes to beat Boston/Detroit/Pittsburgh. If they keep it up they'll have a decent season. We all know that pre season hockey doesn't mean a thing though.

Im kinda annoyed with the whole detroit owning the west these past couple of years, I think that with the addition of heatley to san jose and hossa leaving detroit the power switches to SJ and Chicago.

and im pissed comcast is raeping directv so i cant watch hockey games on versus...

Hurricanes opener tomorrow, gonna be sick

Colorado. :) My favourite team. Realistically, I'm going to take the Caps. I've always liked Washington.
