One of our guys has put some work into a team montage for us, it's a bit lengthy but awesome as it feels like it only lasts 6 or 8 min. You have to download one of the versions to your pc to watch as the file is to big for you tube etc...
Here's his post :
The montage is done!
Yay.
I've posted it two ways because it's big, 1.2 gigs. There is nothing I could do, so much good stuff and so many good guys it came it at 22 minutes but I've watched it many times and I think it moves along quite nicely.
I'm hopeful that everybody has a computer that can play the medium version which is 960x540 at 8000kbits/sec. I've also uploaded a file the same size (960x540) just at 1/2 the bit rate and I've posted a 30 second test. Download the test first, if it plays smooth without stuttering then download the full thing. If you have issues, then obviously download the lower res version.
HD.
I'm disappointed that I don't have an HD version for you guys at this time. I've built it in HD (not broadcast quality because my capture compresses on the fly) but 720p and it's awesome, unfortunately I've compressed it as much as I'm willing to go and it clocks in at 2.6 gigabytes. I couldn't upload it last night without my server timing out.
I've posted a 30 second test at HD quality, 1280x720 at 16000 kbits/sec. Download it and take a look. If enough people can play it, and request it. I can post the HD version, I'll just have to do it in .rar segments that you can recombine with WinRar.
Quicktime.
I'm a Mac guy so its a Quicktime movie. Deal with it - h.264 and AAC are the best quality formats I think and the ones I can work with most reasonably. Ideally I'd like to see you view this at actual size against a black screen. Halo maps have a lot of dark areas and I've worked hard to keep as much detail and crisp color as I could. A white screen or bright desktop will just make it look dark and wishy washy. Turn down the lights, darken your desktop, get some good headphones and enjoy.
Chapters.
Quicktime allows chapters. If you use a Quicktime player you should see chapters on the controller. This makes seeking out the scotchboy stuff really easy. The format of the montage is to feature a couple of gamers then show a couple of non-player specific team-oriented plays before moving onto another gamer feature. The movie itself identifies the player by their name on the screen below the radar. The chapter title though doesn't change until the next gamer tag. I didn't realize until I posted it that it you have the Quicktime controller visible the chapter may still say 'Elite King' or something even though the plays are somebody else. So, if you see one of your plays and the chapter says a different name I'm not giving somebody else credit, you'll notice the screen won't have an identifying tag because I intended it to be indicative of the kinds of stuff we pull off all the time at Spartan Gaming.
