Soo..I know most of you haven't even touched the campaign yet, but I played about half of it last night. I was very surprised to see that at the beginning, before the game even began, there was a message warning about the potential offensiveness of one of the missions. I choose the "I will not be offended no matter what" option, and it made me verify it. I won't spoil, but has anyone else played the mission to which this refers? Thoughts? I definitely wasn't expecting anything like that in a CoD game, and I was surprised I hadn't heard rumors about something this big. Anyway, I wasn't offended, it's just a game, I just wanted to get any reactions from the rest of you guys.

I have not played through it but I know about. Its just a game and it lets you get a different view/perspective.

It's not the language they are talking about, it's a specific mission that it gives you the option to skip.

Some people will find it offensive, no doubt. When I play through it I may feel a bit uncomfortable, but I know its a game and will take it as such.

I was reading about this in an article yesterday, if we're thinking of the same thing. I personally wouldn't be offended by it; it's part of reality, but those who have some connection with that happening or know/knew someone who did could easily be.

I was also very surprised. I guess another step in making it ultimately realistic?

That mission is insane. I played through, and like big bog frog was saying, I think we're old enough to differentiate between a game and reality. I think they hit the nail on the head by making it skippable. Pisses me off to no end to think of the parents that buy this for their 12 year old kid and don't pay attention to the content. I've got $5 that within 6 months MW2 will be blamed for a school shooting or something to that effect.

Definitely Cor, this is a shitstorm waiting to happen. The level itself was pretty well handled, but it was all a bit clean and easy.

I don't think you guys are talking about the airport mission, but that made me a little uncomfortable as well, and then I thought about the movie "Heat", starring Al Pacino & Robert De niro and I started shooting everything.

We were talking about the airport mission saint ice. I don't know why we were being cryptic, since Fox News will probably be all over this soon.

Oh ok Corskier, I guess I just thought there was something much worse. To be honest, think about how many civilians all of us have shot in a video game before? Now take all those incidents and add them all into one big airport scene.

IF this game causes a school shooting, then i guess they need to make the rating higher than M, Parents don't even look at that when they get a game for their kid, they just think about how much of a temper tantrum they will have to put up with. Makes me sick. I have seen though that a mom wouldn't let her kid get oblivion cause it was rated M. I laughed on the inside a little bit, but respected the parent.

dude i just played the campaign to see what you guys were talking about.

Its not really that offensive compared to what i have seen through out my video gaming span and real life for that matter. The worst part to me was that music during the level, gave me the creeps.

I guess the real question at hand here is whether or not it's offensive to people that aren't avid video game players like ourselves, because of course we're not gonna be as offended as other people who aren't used to killing computer generated civilians.

With all the shootings that go on in the real world, I'd be surprised if there weren't any articles condemning MW2, which would be bull shit cause this game is amazing.

True, but why condemn it? That would basically mean people would rather be oblivious to the things that can/will happen everyday. A shooting like this hasn't happened at an airport like this before to my knowledge, but in my opinion it's a realistic possibility. Movies never really get criticized for realistic representation, but I don't know why games do.

At first I wasn't sure as to how I was going to take it, but after the very first part I noticed that they used the same 4 or so character models throughout the level so I could care less about the mission.

Because in video games you are "doing" the action...at least according to the people who blow up about this type of stuff.

has anybody seen the fox news "objective" coverage on this game? It's sickening what they make it out to be.

Lol played the level.... All I did was shoot in the air, and then killed those who were shooting at me. Yeah I didn't take it as "offensive" because, well, its a stinkin' video game. I took it as a "what if" type of scenario.

Fox critisizes everything, they are the most biased news cast out there. they dont care what its about as long as they get coverage about it.
