Pro's and Con's of Cod.

IMO:
Pro: There's too many pros to state in this thread. But the main reason I LOVE Cod is the ranking system. I love how you unlock shit as you progress and the custom killstreaks. The deathstreaks aren't as bad as I thought they would be either. So far this game has lived up to its hype.


Con: The only con I have right now is sniping for me. I feel like its a much faster pace game then the other and therefore a lot harder to hit and the snipe takes two body shots :(.

Not sure about that . . . . One thing I have noticed is grenades. They are not as strong as they used to be, and I haven't seen much of them. This is either a good thing or a bad thing idk. Out of my 1500 kills so far I think 5 are from grenades, unlike CoD4 would be like 200.

Pros: Better weapon customization, new scoring (more points for headshots, bonus points for saving a team mate, etc...) unlockable titles and emblems, higher level max (70 instead of 55) means you can play longer, and new gametypes.

The two snipers you have when you start are the Intervention and .50; the Intervention is a bolt action.

Pros: It's a well made game, lots to work towards (attachments, perk pro, challenges etc), objective gametypes fell great (flag and domination are amazing), Soap McTavish is a badass, snowmobiles.

Cons: Camping, some weapons feel ridiculously underpowered (snipers especially), sometimes I spawn looking straight up at the sky or facing a corner with an enemy right behind me, no party chat is a bit annoying.

YES, I Love how all those attachments for the weapons and even secondary weapons. My favorite was how you can have Pro Perks. The more you use it the more you benifit kinda thing.
Makes me NEVER wanna prestige.
Even thou I vowed not to prestige before the game came out.

Yeah, the XP keeps adding on in the sense that you see that you get your XP after the game, etc but I don't think it actually goes any higher than the Level 70 limit. Granted, I have very little knowledge of how Prestige works exactly. I'm aware that you start over with all your weapons, perks, etc, but does anything "roll-over" so to speak? Like say you keep playing when you get Level 70 and you keep adding XP, do you get to use the XP towards your Prestige class or is it tabula rasa?

Good question lol. I did it 10 times in the other one, I just liked starting over and completing everything again + I wanted that gold cross ha. But I found it rather easy, because I always used the m16 and once I prestiged I would get it right back so it wasn't much of a change. . . . thats what its gonna be like with me and the Famas this time around.

I haven't done any with a teammate yet, I needed to relax after work at like 3am and couldn't be bothered switching all my cables around, so I just rolled solo! I liked the snow sniper mission, but that Chernobyl one was pissing me off. The Ghillie snipers are frigging psychic. I liked the wave defense on the tower too, with the sniper and the Predator missiles. I killed 15 guys with one Predator yesterday, FEAR THE WRATH OF ZEUS!

I completely agree. Envy and I were discussing this this morning and how we have been spoiled by Halo's party system.

i like alot of the new perks and kill streak bonuses and how they can be setup for team based objective matches like in ctf u have a runner with marathon and lightweight while someone camps (yea its bad) and gets a high kill streak for a really good bonus and what not

seriously, it's just for looks.. and, i saw a reason in cod4.. because it really wasn't difficult to unlock everything quickly, and there wasn't alot to do without prestige

but in mw2 there is SO MUCH cool shit to unlock, that to wait until 10th prestige to unlock them all would drive me insane.. at my pace it would take me like 6 months+ just to get 10th prestige, and then another few months at 10th prestige just unlocking all the cool shit

you keep your titles and emblems, and (maybe?) unlocked kill streaks

also, the marksman and perk challenges keep going even after you have unlocked all the attachments and the pro perk, so you have something to do for quite awhile

It's okay. I just don't know. CoD's party system SUCKS, their matchmaking system SUCKS (I hate quitters and not locking into games ETC ETC), And idk... it just hasn't gotten addicting to me yet. Even if it's a little worn out, Halo just had a ton of accomplishments that made you feel good. To me, unlocking a new weapon.. eh... getting a high kill streak... eh. To me it feels like there isn't even a point to winning. YAY more experience. Not really. I wont prestige, sure it may take some more time get to level 70 or whatever, but really what do I care? Rank means nothing on this game other than you play a lot. Prestiging yourself does nothing more than take away all your weapons for a new little symbol which just means.... you play too much.

Now I am not trying to be a hater here I promise. Things I do like: I don't feel the need to be serious all the time like in halo, because again, what's the point? Leaderboard's (IMO) are kind of dumb because it's only for your friends list and good luck searching through the Global one. If you aren't top 50 who cares?! So in that case it's nice to play a game where you don't feel pressured to keep your rank or your K/D (unless you actually care about your K/D even knowing no one on the other "team" cares). The campaign? BRILLIANT. It was like being in a movie. I haven't finished it yet but I am excited to (which ODST didn't do for me AT ALL). It's still a fun game, even despite all I don't like about the multiplayer, and I am sure I will play it for a long time. But I don't feel like it's something I strongly WANT to do. Even now I am home bored with the game 5 feet away, but there is no huge draw to put it in and play. I seem to be more excited to watch a movie at this point.

I know there are you in this clan who love the game and I promise I am not knocking you at all! These are just my opinions, you can take them or leave them as see fit. Sure it's fun I agree. For me, It just is no Halo. It can't do for me what Halo did. It leaves me no desire to get better, or learn strats, just to get the AC130 and do what everyone hates and kill on spawns;).

HC/Search and Destroy has the competitive aspect of CoD, and I agree with the locking in game part. I HATE searching for a game and getting one on the losing team with a point remaining in the game. But on the other hand CoD's party system is NOT the worst out there, granted it should be a lot better, it still is pretty good compared to other games beside halo. comparing the two party systems together are like comparing velcro watches to Rolex's. Everything "SUCKS" next to halos. But Cod's is still above average.


Yes! The Campaign is AMAZING! Finished it on veteran and loved every minute of it. By far the best campaign game I've ever played. Fun missions, twists, and badass vehicles. 5 star from me.

I agree carcass that trying to compare it to Halo's matchmaking system is "unfair" but remember.... this game is BUILT for multiplayer. Yeah the storyline of campaign is surprisingly good, but that doesnt change the fact it was MADE for the multiplayer aspect. I just feel like the matchmaking system put in place had no real thought involved in it. There is no penalty for just quitting out... Yeah my team is loosing by 12 kills... it still makes the game horrible when you find out.. "OH I am the only person left on my team cuz everyone just quit out because they suck."

cons- lack of a skill gap, not competitive in nature, theres no high level MLG to get rid of the annoying ass 13 year olds, ranking system fail, there shouldnt even be ranks because they mean nothing other than you play and that doesnt indicate skill just a lack of social interaction

Con- MM is POS, there is no ranking system at all and anyone starting out like me gets destroyed by high level players with all the upgrades. They should go by your level for matchmaking.

I find the game to be a lot of fun. I am still figuring out a lot about it.

Pros:
Large variety of weapon choices and customization
Fast paced games lots of action
Waste a lot of time playing it(time flies even more than Halo)

Cons:

Party System and MM(why do low level people get matched with prestiged players and then have prestige players all for some reason be on the same team when it is a mercenary deathmatch happens to me half the time I play it.)

I wish everyone had a little more shield not double but maybe a quarter more in all of the playlists. I feel like it would make game more competitive and take more skill to to kill the players. It is more like a Swat match here one hot kills half the time.

i don't like it.. i like playing it, it's enjoyable for a couple hours.. but i don't like it for one reason

i can't take the game seriously.

it's just not a competitive game to me, if i fuck around and run around with shotties or knifing people, or run around with full stealth.. it's fairly enjoyable, i like the aspect of making my own class with perks and shit.. but the second i take the game seriously, it takes a dump on my face and reminds me of how random the game is

if i try to take it seriously, a booster will join the other team and boost to his nuke and fuck me over.. or someone will eat 3 sniper bullets to the chest and then one shot me with their cold blooded and pistol.. or i will stick someone and they run away unscathed, or someone will run around with marathon dual shotties

this game agrivates the shit out of me if i try to take it seriously, so i can only play it if i'm going to fuck around and don't care about what happens.. i'd like to take it seriously, i'd like to be competitive in it, but being competitive in mw2 is going to raise my blood pressure to unsafe heights

the reason ppl get matched not by skill is because the ranking system has nothing to do with high lvl ppl. i cant tell you how many ppl had 10 presitge in CoD4 who would go -20 kills a game. Rank doesnt really mean anything in CoD. its all about Kpd


also rabbit you cant really take MW2 as a hugely competitive game. Some things are completely random and dont stand a chance of survival. If you want to take the game competitively than stay back and camp. thats what competitive gamers in Mw2 do.

i went into a domination playlist and it put up a 16 player FFA on Rust. i just kept getting spawn ***** went neg 20 which really sucked.

I actually enjoy these modded matches sometimes. I've gotten my weapons up like crazy, and they never end until someone gets a nuke. I just dont like Rust. WAY TO MUCH SPAWN KILLING.

Amen to that one! I 'm not one for quitting a match unless I absolutely have to, but when it comes to running into boosters and cheaters and glitched matches all together, that's where I cross the line, and I'm pretty sure there are others who would agree with me on this
