I'm curious as to who is going to prestige in MW2? If you are going to prestige tell us why, and what level you want to stop at (what's your favorite prestige badge?). If you don't plan on prestiging tell us why.

I prestiged today and am a level 21 right now. I did it because I want to unlock new custom class slots and because I tend to get bored when I'm at one level.

I do REALLY like the 1st prestige badge though...I've been considering staying here, but I doubt I will.

I'm going to prestige until I can't anymore, I love the fact that you are basically starting matchmaking all over again and completing all the challenges again.

So count on me to prestige the first chance that I get (Which won't be for a while considering that I am a level 50 somthing).

i probably don't have enough free time to even prestige once since theres a big project coming up and i don't want to get stuck at lvl 20 with nothing unlocked

I'm not going to prestige I don't think... I don't really see the point of it, I have all the custom classes that I want, and even if I feel like a change id just switch it up in pregame, although I do like the look of the first prestige badge. Also the rewards of extra badges and things is pointless in my opinion

My goal is to have everything unlocked and completed. All challenges, emblems, titles, camos, and attachments. I can do the attachments and camos without prestiging but I can't do the rest.

By the way, you unlock "veteran" challenges when you prestige. Golden guns anyone?

I don't have MW2 yet, but this is the exact same reason I prestige. Granted, I don't have it yet and there's like 70(?) levels but I still can't see myself staying at one until I A)Get everything I want and B)Find a prestige badge I love.

I will probably as soon as I can. I like the Custom Class slots and new challenges which was left out in the past two games. I plan on going all the way to 10th prestige and I have a lot of time to play next week.

I can't even stay in a party of friends anymore since matchmaking is so broken =[ If you think I am the only one go check around IW's forums and you will see this happens to a lot of people. So if I get lucky enough to get to 70 (considering the only worth I see in this game is playing with friends) I will most likely just stay there.

I'm guessing so. You don't unlock the "veteran" challenges until you prestige.

i found what works with ppl getting kicked out in pregame is once you get everyone u want to play with in your party, take everyone into private match pregame and then switch back. somehow it seems to lock everyone in. works for me

If you have to prestige to get the "golden guns" I may prestige but it depends on how much work it takes. Right now IW needs to get on to working on their crap matchmaking system so I stop dropping out of the part.

Well I did it. Gonna start playing tomorrow when I have a lot of time. I just know I'm going to hate it until I get Create a Class because I despise the FAMAS with a passion.

Possibly. I mean, Its just so hard to even get to level 70 right now anyways, starting over would feel pointless... Though, I did it on COD4 and lost a ton of stuff, It was great to have a cool emblem and stuff, but... the attachment to my guns that I used the most just died because they were just basic, regular old guns again.

BUT.

I do like having more custom classes, even though I hate thinking about having to restart it, it might possibly be worth it. I know if I Prestige though, I wont stop till I'm forced to.

then again...

Probably not anyways. XP

I don't think I'll prestige, but after getting my primary tag to 70 I will probably level up my secondary and possibly prestige on that one, leaving Gimp to have all the weapons and whatnot untouched.

Yes Rhino. Everything except for Emblems and Titles reset. Unless I'm wrong now, Dont strike me down! XD But as far as we know, thats all you keep.

I plan in playing this game a lot. I'm all ready a level 26 or 28 second prestige so I'm going to go the distance! I was 10th on my original account in 4 and I only prestiged 3 times on WaW so I'm taking this one to 10. The 10th prestige icon looks BA!

Yes, but there's a catch. When you hit 70 you have to fill up those little gold XP bars at the bottom of your screen again. Then you're free to prestige!

Hadn't presiteged yet. Had ACR completely done, M16 (Had all Attachments, just not all the Veteran and Marksmen), M4A1, SCAR-H, M21 EBR, Mini Uzi, UMP45 and WA2000 were all past their Veteran 6 Stage and had all the attachments except for Extended Magz. (I hate FMJ challenges. Its a waste of a Attachment.) Had EVERYTHING going great...

Then I Prestieged.

I blame it on my friends who Peer Pressured me into doing it. Now me and one of my friends are in a race to see who gets to 70 quickest again. Joy.
BTW, I hate the FAMAS. I want to burn that gun. Sorry to all you FAMAS lovers, buts its a Wannabe M16 that fires a crapload slower. Not to mention the 5 minute reload time...

Thats what I had on.. Wait, no... I had the default class, with Scavenger didn't I? Right... Anyways.. I mean, its a decent gun and all but... Its just really slow firing. Needs like... I think the 3 bullet bursts help you conserve ammo. My brother for example plays with some other gun (don't remember the name) and it's fully auto. Unless he has scavenger on, he gets screwed hard.

I really only play hardcore. so people die pretty easily. But if you play regular, just throw stopping power on it and you're set.

Welp, it's 4:30 AM EST and I'm going to bed after a long night of gaming. I got off at about 12:30 because I was playing bad, got back on like half an hour later and called in two chopper gunners in the first game (74-12) and came close to another nuke. I prestiged and managed to hit level 10 before bed. I am now a level 10 3rd prestige!

I am a level 44 gonna be a while till I have to prestige. I read on IW every thing resets when you prestige BUT you unlock veteran challenges that do not reset after you prestige again. Things like get 2500 kills with certain weapons and things like that. Is this true and do you have all the challenges unlocked once you prestige or just the veteran one?

When you prestiege, you lose ALL challenges. None are unlocked until their specific levels, ALTHOUGH, in saying this, you also Unlock Prestiege Challenges, which are unlocked right off the bat, allowing you to get any and all of them as soon as you want to get them. Any Challenges you accomplished before, they're reset. Weapon Challenges as well, although with every weapon, excluding the riot shield and equipment, there are then NEW Challenges, which allow you to get the new titles for them. Veteran and Master Challenges unlock, allowing you to gain new titles for each weapon once you get a certain amount of kills with that weapon. Check the CoD Wiki for specific titles and such for the weapons.

In a nutshell yes.

When you prestige you basically start over again. All of your weapons challenges reset (except for the prestige challenges you unlock when you prestige, and the veteran/marksmen challenges you unlock when you prestige). For each odd number prestige you hit you unlock a new custom class (1, 3, 5, 7, 9).

All of the prestige challenges stay except for the bottom 5. Those ones are pretty easy to get though. The weapon mastery/veteran challenges (the ones blinking green) stay as well.

The only reason I wouldnt prestige is because I really dont play the game very often, and I would hate to lose all of the weapons I earned.

Not sure yet, when i get to 70, and that'll take a long time i'll think about it some more, one the one hand i'm a collector whore so i'd want to get to the highest rank possible. On the other hand that would mean losing everything!

Once I finally get to 70, I'm gonna play a few games with the AK-47, then I'm gonna prestige. I can make due with the Barrett .50 cal and the M4A1 for a while... then I'm going to switch to the FAL and the old "2 by 4" (my nickname for the WA2000).

9th is pretty tight, 10th is sweet as well but I'd probably stop at 9 if I got the chance. Then again, I can see why you'd go to 10.

Yeah the 9th is sweet. Also, you unlock the 10th custom class at 9th prestige. I told myself I'd go to 10th though. I want all of the unlockables, and on my Unrivaled account I stopped at my first prestige on WaW and CoD 4. I kind of wish I played on my original account though. I was a 10th prestige on CoD 4.

Oh I absolutely agree. CoD 2 was awesome too. There were no perks or anything so it was truly a game of skill. I can't wait to hit 10th prestige lvl 70 on MW2 so I can stop playing public matches and focus on GB.
