View Full Version : XP does NOT equal score...

Ok, so there is a pretty popular thread on the Infinity Ward forums about certain playlists giving you more/less score than others.

Keep in mind, the XP you earn is not your score. XP only goes toward your level (the gold bars at the bottom of your screen), while your score is what you see on th leaderboards.

I'll compare Search And Destroy (a game I play a lot) and Domination.
After an average S&D game you could earn anywhere from 10,000 XP and up while only getting a pathetic score of 1,000 or so. After an average domination game you could earn a relatively small 2000XP and anywhere from 10,000 and up toward your score.

I play a lot of S&D now and I earn roughly 15,000XP and up per game, but hardly any score. Not that stats mean anyhing to me, but my score is lower than it could be because of the playlist I play.

Just a little food for though when you're wondering why your score isn't as high as your friends (like I was)!

I think that Team Deathmatch adds more score than XP cause my rank is way lower than a lot of my friends, but yet my score is super high compared to them.

I've also noticed this. I'm going to keep track of my scores and XP and put them here to compare.

How do u get so much xp in search and destroy? I am going to have to give that a try. Also what does your score have to do with?

I don't know why you get so much XP to be honest.

Your score is what you see on the global leaderboards.

If you go to barracks and look at your stats, you'll see a little section to the right of the screen that has your XP, Score, Kills/Deaths, and time played.

Right now, I have 963,226 XP, and a score of 568,890.

Isn't search and destroy the one where you try to arm the bomb and if you are killed you are out for the round? Or is that a different gametype, I played a neutral bomb game where it never ended and racked up a crapload of kills if that is what mean.

S&D has 1 spawn per round; once you die you're out for the round. You're thinking of Sabotage where it's neutral.
