What couldn't you live without?

Here at outcastreborn.com we are always working behind the scenes to improve our member experience. You know this by our extremely feature rich site. However we do notice that many things just don't get used often, if at all.

vBulletin(our backbone software) has released their 4.0 Gold series and with this we can start development on outcastreborn.com v5. We don't want to scare you to much, many of the core features will remain and the site will be as easy if not more easy to navigate and interact with.

However we want some input from members and associates alike. What features can you not live without? What do you want to see improved on? Or what do you think is completely useless and we should ditch? Now is the time to voice your opinions Keep in mind Donors get inside views and information into what we are working on.

I LOVE these features as well. The shout box is clutch!

I'm not saying it needs improvement, but if there was any way you could spice up the shout box that'd be sweet too. I feel like it gets a lot of use and deserves a makeover.

Negative rep has been brought up in the past. even if you can only neg rep someone once or twice per month I still think it'd be cool. Also, for some reason I don't have a bunch of awards I know I should have. I'll make a list later.

Otherwise we are not going to go through people profiles and award it, every once and a while if I know someone deserves an award I will give it to them, but it really is up to you to tell us you deserve it.

There have been a few times I hit up the members map when I'm bored. It's kind of interesting if it's updated. As for the radio thing though,I tried that as well and never used it again it failed hard.

Two things I'll address even though they have been already :P

Awards are only given to those members who request them. The exception here is for competitive based teams and staff/ol rankings. All other awards MUST BE REQUESTED by you or someone else on behalf of you by clicking here: http://www.outcastreborn.com/awards.php We simply don't have time to go through 100+ members and watch for you guys to go over 6+ months membership or 100 Rep etc..

Freezing in Firefox is due to the sites heavy use of ajax and slight server delay. Ajax is when things "auto update" without you refreshing the page. For instance the Current Active Users Viewing This Thread will update every so often. If there is a delay in getting the new information from the server the page will hang for a moment and become unresponsive. This is something we will try and remedy with a less ajax intensive site next version.

The only features use regularly are the shoutbox, PM, search, rep and quick reply. I also used Who's On XBL quite a lot (although I've lost track of whether it works at the moment?).

General XBL integration (profile links, Last Seen, etc.) are also really useful.

Automatic member list is a good one to keep... a useful reference for people who vanish occasionally (like me!) and new members.

Some nice-haves are the photo albums, games and blogs but I hardly ever look at them and wouldn't miss them if they went away. I don't think I've ever played games on this version of the forums.

There's a lot of stuff here that I don't use or don't even know about so I wouldn't mind at all if the site went on a diet :)

I would like to see a "fail counter" just to see how many fail posts were made (kinda on the same lines of neg rep) but something i would look at and instead of rep'ing someone or posting about a fail we can include it in a "fail comment" on the post in question
it wont be all that useful but i would love/use it.

Also no Ruin/Revelation award? seriously OL's... srsly :P i know its an award to just be on the revelation team.

I kind of like the "fail" button Idea. and under rep you could have "fail count: x" and its pretty much a less harsh way of "neg repping" someone.. In fact its more of a joke.. like certain someones getting blocked from watching M videos because they put their real birthday in the age block. XP

Hey guys just figured i'd give a different perspectice on the site, while im still new here. I definitely used the Clan button a lot, checking out all the different things about you guys. One thing i'd say is that About Us sounds like its going to be more the kind of information that Mission holds. I consider About Us to be telling about the kind of clan you have, not the history of the clan. But it is nice having that bar there,instead of having to search around the forums for that information. I only used the FAQ once, just to see what it had, but I think thats a great way for somebody who isnt sure where to look to find all the general info they would want to know.

I couldnt live without the Halo reach beta countdown.

And what is this Shout Box you guys keep referring to? I have yet to come across a shout box. I know what they are, but do you guys actually have one?
