Ok, I played some COD last night online for the first time. But I have a few issues I like to discuss. First, why does the search engine bring in people with 60's, 70's, etc ranks when I'm a 5 rank. There's no option for close rank search. Second, COD is not fair too new people as I don't start off with the bettter weapons, perks, etc, as people with higher ranks (which is completely stupid). Third, playing multiplayer online, I can run around, wait in a spot for a bit-here and there, for 10-15 or more minutes, see nobody ever, then your dead out of nowhere. This happened some much last night, almost made me sick lol. Anyways, does the game get better online as you play it, or is it always going to piss you off to the point where you actually want to go outside and murder everybody you see?
Comments please, peace.

You touched on a few of the reasons why CoD's matchmaking system blows a big one. As far as not being matched up with your own level, you'll find that you'll be getting better faster, sort of like playing customs over and over with Royale used to do for Halo3. You get your ass stomped enough times, you learn how they're doing it. There will never be an option to match by level though, as levels in this game don't show how skilled you are at the game (or how good you are at boosting), they just show how much time you've dropped into the game (or how good you are at boosting.)
You don't start out with higher level weapons, but it's fun to be rewarded them for playing. You'll probably find that the classes they start you with are just fine, a good player can get kills with any weapon they pick up, it's just how they do it that makes them good at the game.
You were probably getting killed "out of nowhere" by someone's killstreak they called in. Things like helicopters & harriers & pred missiles fall into that group. You can unlock perks as you progress that will make you invisible to killstreaks, and that helps immensely.
As for wanting to go out and murder people, I don't think that game is going to help you with that :jimlad:
Send me a FR with the account you're using (unless it's OcR Darkness, I think I have that one) I'd love to get some games in with ya, we haven't played in quite a while!

Send me a FR if i dont already have you and ill show ya the ropes. im sure lycan or Doom would be more than willing to help also.
but yea Cork pretty much summed it up.
Rank doesnt matter in CoD you either have good games or bad games. its not halo where you have a second after some1 shoots you to look around. its more realistic so if u get shot in the back... you die. so start huggin them walls 8P

Darkness, I hope that you got my message last night. For some reason we can't connect, idk, but I will be back at my dorm soon, so I will most likely be able to connect to anyone. So we can play then. We will play and I will answer any questions you have, like which classes are good, good spots to control a map, and other stuff like that.
Just let me know when you wanna play and we will!

Lol...
The previous posters pretty much summed it up. It's just a different game than Halo and you have to get used to it. Trust me, I know it's very aggravating at times, but it's just like anything, you have to learn from experience.

because it's not like halo, a level 50 in halo is earned, and can be lost just as easily as it is gained. in cod, the only thing that a rank represents is how much time you have put into the game.. think of it as a general in social slayer, it means nothing because those 500 wins may have taken 5000 games to get
i've seen high prestige people who are terrible, rank means nothing in cod except time invested
Second, COD is not fair too new people as I don't start off with the bettter weapons, perks, etc, as people with higher ranks (which is completely stupid).
you can get kills with any weapon in the game, there are very few that are truly better.. in fact, the best weapon in the game is available at level 1, the famas
Third, playing multiplayer online, I can run around, wait in a spot for a bit-here and there, for 10-15 or more minutes, see nobody ever, then your dead out of nowhere.
shouldn't be camping anyway, but if you aren't seeing anyone then you're in the wrong part of the map.. go towards the red dots

this game is one that gets much better the ore experience you have with it, you start to see the ways people move around the maps and can then develop strategies for your gameplay and play style. another thing is that (imho) this is best played and more fun when your in a party.
the rank system in ts game doesnt really show skill so as far as that goes i wouldnt really worry too much, you rank up fairly quickly so youll have all the guns in a good amount of time, and the famas statistically is the best gun on the map (not counting attachments).
mw2 seems to have alot more camping from the average randoms and if your stationed around one area of a map you may go without seeing an enemy for some time, if this happens feel free to push up or flank them. what i like to do is when my team is pushing/ fighting 1 side of the map heavily and drawing the attention, i like to slip in behind and thin the numbers.
hope that helps some. :) we should get some games in sometime

DIsagree with the weapon. Scar Best AR, UMP best SMG, RPD best LMG, Sniper all are different and is more prefered. and Shotgun = 1887
best overall is probably scar then 1887 because of power and quickness.
only drawback of the scar is that you dont get a big clip.
1887 are bordeline sniper riffles. lol
and Campers = Lame, Your better than that

Famas without a doubt the best weapon in the game!

Agreed with what some others said, MW2 has a lot more camping than CoD4 did. You see an occasional knifer every now and then, but rushers are much more rare in my opinion. One thing I am sure of is that playing with a party makes the game 100x better. Like ROCKETR said, the game does get really aggravating and you can get pissed real easily, happens to me a lot lol, but overall it's a good game. As long as you keep the dosage down, it won't get too old.

Wasn't saying I was camping. I would run around a bit, stop for a sec, look around, again run around again searching, and find nobody anywhere for many minutes at a time (either I'm always in the wrong place or everybody else is camping). It felt I was playing by myself lol. I like Rabbit's comments. I will take them into consideration. Thanks..

the famas is good with stopping power. but even up close the famas will screw you up in a close range situation. 1 miss and your dead. the scar gives you some more leeway (sp?)
also Scar with stopping power takes like 3-4 shots wihtout its like 6

I don't care what anyone says, I think everyone camps in CoD (to an extent). It's part of the game now, look at how many people do it in a game and you'll see what I mean. Objective games do call for it though a lot of the time.

theres a difference in camping. Ppl who wait behind corners and just sit and wait for ppl to walk by, those are the ppl that piss me off. someone who gaurds a big area and moves around to protect an area thats fine especially if that area is around an objective.

i agree, defense is different than camping, camping is sitting in a place offensively just to get kills while defensive play is roaming your side of the map and guarding spawns/ objective points. whenever i play defensively i find myself in positions where i could just as easily be killed by the enemy as i could kill them, but that is where strategy comes in and you have to anticipate enemy movements and playstyles to keep the defenses strong.

Tonight I heard someone refer to a sniper as a camper. I guess they'd been killed by a guy multiple times and kept running in the same direction.
"FUCKING CAMPING BITCH, PUT DOWN THAT INTERVENTION AND PLAY WITH A REAL GUN"
Basically word for word.
I think the only real problem with CoD is the people that play it.

Had exactly the same problem when i started, and it got really frustrating, to the point where i thought about giving up, thankfully i didn't and once i'd got to the point where you can create your own classes it becomes much more enjoyable. In the beginning i was surrounded by people between 50-70, and then there's me, everyone was saying, aww look at the noob, i dont want him!
Find a style that suits you, and something you enjoy and it'll make a huge difference.
