OcR Envy

This month we sit down with the #2 Ranked Driver in all of Halo 3.
OcR Envy: Where are you from? How old are you? What do you do for a living?
LouieBlack: I'm from the diamond state of Delaware, born and raised. In such a small state you get to know the people and the land rather quickly and I miss it very much! I moved to Dallas Texas when I was 20. Followed my then girlfriend, now wife here when her family moved on business. I'm soon to be 28 years young, o how the time flies when playing Halo!! I work for a tech support company, CSC. Pretty large company with many contracts. I work for a contract that supports 30+ hospitals across the country. I've moved up the ranks quite quickly and have become a Supervisor and account trainer. Recently I've even managed to persuade them in thinking I could do my job FROM HOME!! (in yo FACE Envy!!) I sit at home, waiting for emails and conference calls to start up... doing very little while watching dvds and/or playing xbox/WoW. They pay for the internet too!! =P
OcR Envy: When did you first join OcR? How did you find OcR and what made you want to join?
LouieBlack: I joined OcR on 04-13-2009 (almost a year OMG!). I knew of OcR ever since H3WM joined forces with the GGN 2yrs ago. OcR has always held the highest standards of competition and honor. Always looked upon as the 'cream of the crop'. I founded H3WM long ago by starting simple threads on B.net trying to find out who in fact was the best of the best at driving the 'signature' vehicle in Halo, the Warthog (God bless her). During my search I became friends with MANY of the 'names' of BTB, including a silly Rabbit that claimed to be a great driver. I asked him to try his hand at gunning as my lead at the top was shortening and I needed a consistent partner to keep pace. That was long ago. One day he told me he finally decided on a clan with the reputation and skill worth applying to. He signed up and was accepted. It got my wheels turning..."I too want a competitive team to brag about. I wonder if they have a Hog Driver?" After much debate and concern on how my brothers in the WM would feel, I came over and joined up. I'm happy to say that I feel I've made the right choice and couldn't be happier. OcR is a great family and I feel most welcome here. For that I thank every one of you!! MUCH LOVE!
OcR Envy: What's your favorite game-type to play with the clan?
LouieBlack: Oh man is that an easy question! My favorite game type is and always will be BTB. More players on each side makes for much larger and elaborate battles. The strategy has to be greater. The counter measures, the coordination, the vehicles.... the list goes on and on. I can say with all honesty that I play more smaller play lists now that I have so many "backpacks" at my disposal! =P
OcR Envy: Do you have any life goals, or career goals that you would like to share? What drives you to complete these goals?
LouieBlack: Life goals? What is this you speak of? Isn't being one of the best 'hog drivers a life goal? In all seriousness I have no 'long term' goals on the horizon other then getting a house and starting a family when funds permit. Career goals? I haven't completed any degrees so my goal is to move up as far and as fast as I can. I'm doing pretty well in my current role, taking on the responsibilities of a Manager so I do
believe that my company values me enough to keep moving me forward. A word to the younger members: As silly and repetitive as this may sound, a college degree is something you NEED. Not so much the education you will gain, as experience is really what 'learns' you, but the paper itself is needed. It's almost a requirement to do anything MAJOR in any career choices you will want to make in life. STAY WITH IT!
OcR Envy: What would you tell recruits or new members about OcR?
LouieBlack: If you're here as a new recruit then you already know OcR is a
great clan to be apart of. It truly has it all for those wanting to COMPETE in the XBL universe. Now that you're here and trying to make it in I can only tell you that it's TOTALLY in your hands. You'll need to make your presence known. You have to take the initiative to reach out and game with your fellow clansmen. Send out invites and friend requests. These players are already family and look to you to make the first move. I recommend playing with those that have similar interests. No sense in trying to be friends with MW2 players or MLG guys if you play BTB, and vise versa. If you truly want a home here, you'll also need to understand that we play with respect of the fellow gamers in mind. Respect is something earned, not granted with a clan tag.
OcR Envy: Is there anything about yourself that you would change?
LouieBlack: I'd change my BR spread!! =P Seriously though, I try to be a good person and friend to everyone I meet. I want all to like me. Sometimes this backfires and I feel bad but I never look to make enemies. I think one of my biggest weaknesses is
that I'm HORRIBLE at saving money. I'd love to work on changing that...but there's always something I want and that hinders my needs at times, which in turn causes my wife to fight with me and that's NO BUENO! =( I hate to look the fool, more so then I already do =P
OcR Envy: What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever done in real life?
LouieBlack: Nothing comes to mind that I've done too embarrassing. I've went to work several times at my old job overwhelmingly baked out of my mind, bloodshot eyes and the like. Back then I worked retail and had to face both MGT and customers knowing full well they would know where my head was (in the clouds). Those were 'unconformable' times to say the least. I remember one time I made a LAME excuse that I started wearing contacts and it was scratching my eyes really bad... Dunno if they believed it, but it was better then saying I smoked before coming in /facepalm. I can't forget about my 1st time playing with Retribution and forgetting to mute myself while taking a 'bathroom break'. "It can't stink, I haven't even pooped yet"... I don't think I said 2 words the rest of practice, short of call outs. *sigh*
OcR Envy: Do you have any shout-outs you want to give?
LouieBlack:Shout outs! WUWU!! 1st and foremost I have to thank Rabbit. He's one of the most skilled players I know. He's always helped me ingame become the best I can (his backpack is UBER strong) and is pretty much my closest friend over XBL. I gotta thank Envy and Rocketr for helping me fit in and 'rub elbows' with the upper brass here in OcR. I gotta thank the rest of Retribution for giving me something to brag about to all my friends both in RL and over XBL. Valorious for taking my criticisms not to heart but to think them through as what they were intended, to help us sync better. Doom was one of the 1st players that I hadn't known before joining to come to me and want to play. My skill isn't always there but that never stopped the invites, made me feel
quite welcome. Patriot and Kitty, you guys are always fun to play with! I know there's more and if I spent more time I would get to everyone... but I've already been long winded so I'll stop with this: OcR as a whole has made me feel MOST welcome and apart of the family. I can't express how much I appreciate it. Thank you all <3
