Yeap New maps released today
so you know how maps are usually 800pts? well Microsoft said fuck that lets charge 15 bucks, it is MW2 and ppl will buy it.
well FU microsoft, ill buy ur crappy maps. even though all u guys did is work on 3 new ones and just copy and paste 2 old maps into the software.
Maps = 1200 pts (which means i have to buy a new card when l4d2 maps come out)

More like Activision said 1200 points ($15) as they are the publisher.

For those that purchased the map pack, once you play through the maps a couple of times could you post a review in here? I haven't been into MW2 since I picked up BC2, but I think I could get back into it if you guys are enthusiastic about the new stuff.

Wahhhhhhhhhhh, Let's hate on a company because they know how to make money.
More money for the least amount of time? I mean Comon. Why would they take there time making new maps when the can just make a couple and copy and paste? PROFITS SON,PROFITS.

That's where I'm at too Rabbit. I loved crash and overgrown, they were my two faves from 4. Actually, I guess I could just pop CoD4 in if I want to play them, and I'd be playing a less broken game at the same time...

Yes, and gamebattles even removed MW2 from there ladders. Glitch after glitch after glitch, kinda sad.
I guess they just fixed that glitch though, so sit back and wait for the next one I guess.

This was done using JTAG'd Xbox's, just like the Instant Prestige Lobbies and Unlock All Lobbies. I highly doubt IW could have seen something like that happening.

Exactly. This is an issue with Microsoft as well as IW/Activision.
It's not the games fault people are shitty and take advantage of mods and glitches in the game.
I'm downloading them now, I'll post a review.

so the game isn't broken, but kids are still running around with 2 rifles and 4 perks, and wallhacks (in a console game!), but because there's nothing they can do about it, it's all ok?
if it's microsoft's fault, why isn't it happening in halo? there are no hackers in halo, there are some script kiddies, some kids with botnets, and that's about it.. but no ones flying around with red squares around their enemies
the game is still broken

It isn't like the people bitching have never played the game.
It's all about what you're able to put up with. If you can put up with the noob tubing, overpowered weapons, the camping and loud mouthed 11 year olds that can't win without hacking then you can find this game fun. Because honestly, it is a really fun game if you've got thick enough skin to get passed all the bullshit.
I (and many others) couldn't get passed all the bullshit because we've been spoiled by games that are harder to manipulate than MW: 2. Not to mention we've become very accustomed to "run and gun" style play.
Is the bullshit IW's fault? Not necessarily, the people that are doing the manipulating are the ones that ruin it for a lot of people. Does MW: 2 suck? Not at all, like mostly everything else in this world it's all a matter of preference.
There is no reason to fight over this, or even to get annoyed. The CoD guys should just recognize that it's the same argument every time and then drop it because it's a waste of time.
The anti-CoD guys should just not bring it up because if you don't play it why does it even matter?

Someone asked for Reviews of the maps, right?
Well, I'll do my best.
Crash - Same old Crash. If you played the CoD4 version of it, it's nothing different. I spent a great amount of time on it, and honestly, It brings back personal hates for the map again. But, like I said, personal. Anyways, The map isn't bad. Same hiding spots as always, Graphics are updated, and I believe the lines of sight are slightly better as well, I dunno. Could just be me.
Overgrown - Once again, Same as before. Nothing new, No glitches in the map thus far. Graphics are, once again, updated. You can still get on top of Grandma's house, (Alternate route, the one where you jump on the wall from the open side, is not usable anymore) And The most awesome part, the Gas Station can be blown up. <3
Storm - The Rainy Map centered around a Giant Warehouse... Sounds a bit familiar. Might as well have brought Downpour back... Anyways, Map is great, Close Quarters, yet still balances it to where you can snipe half-way decently. It revolves mainly around the warehouse, but if it's an objective game, prepare to go running around the edges quite often. They balanced the map well, and it's fairly big too, but It's one of those maps that will end up being Nuke Boosted on eventually, same with the other two new maps.
Bailout - Interesting little map, actually. Very linear, and narrow map, but still makes it feel bigger. Lots of flanking routes, and tons of shortcuts you can take. Extremely small line of sight in most areas, so bring your Assault Rifle or Sub-Machine Gun. I haven't gotten to play it too much, but it seems to be a pretty good map. Snipers beware, this isn't going to be your 'Boom. Headshot.' Galore Map, this one goes to the guys who run around and get in the fight.
Salvage - Digging the map. Small, Great for Free For All, Lots of fun little hiding places, along with plenty of spaces to hide for nuke boosting. As it is a small map, there are still a plethora of places to go and hide. For example, there's a small walkway behind one of the buildings next to the edge of the map, Perfect place to hide, honestly. A fun little area to hide in, if you can get to it, is the Dog house in the center of the map. Go Prone, crawl inside and kill any unsuspecting foes that happen to run by. Great for FFA, like I said, and maybe 4v4 too. But not any good for many objective games, except perhaps Domination.

Ya, Overgrown is alright but really sucks when ppl just snipe
I really enjoy all the new maps. i think they are really fun Salvage is my favorite by far just because its constant action. and its really fun on Demolition.
Bailout.... i have mixed feelings about. i think its good depending on how ppl play it. i kept getting killed from behind in that map. and the spawns are to varied i think. also theres to many camping spots in every corner of the map.
i couldnt get off a care package in that map without some1 else spawning, killing me, and taking it.
Storm... the 1st time i played it i went 22 -10 so ya i like it lol

Sadly .. no, they wouldn't. Why, you might ask? Because you just gave us a review as well as pretty much every other person who PLAYS the game (often). You guys all still paid the $15 over the $10. So for every 2 players who religiously play the game you make up for 1 person who doesn't play the game. And if someone who doesn't really play the game decides to get careless and play once or twice and buy the maps, they just made that $15 anyways.
Companies aren't making up or pulling these numbers out of their asses. They know (usually by surveys) what people are willing to pay and what will bring them the most Total Revenue. For instance, if the price was $10 me, skier, and rabbit would buy them [as well as the 10 (or 11) of you who did... Ryder, Locke, Half, doom, moose, juneau, cam, prunk, chachi, Holliday, and maybe lat (/his bro)]
So @ $10 they would make (assuming lat bought them) $140 off of 14 people. At $15 dollars they made $165 off of 11 people out of the 14. And this is assuming that skier, me, and rabbit DONT buy the maps even after good/great reviews.
But if they charged $20 how many of us would buy? I can guarantee that it wouldnt be all 11 of you. A few of you, yes. All of you? No. Businesses find the price at which they can get the most Total Revenue. Not serve the most people.
Sorry for the long Economics Post. I've seen a lot of people mentioning/complaining about the prices of things and I thought I'd share a little about why it is how it is.

The sad thing is you're absolutely right. They pay companies big money to do some polling and statistics, come up with a function that models DLC purchases at different price points, and go with the one that makes them the most money. Gotta get that scrilla.
