Well MW2 has been out for a while... and i have a confession....
i hvnt gotten a nuke yet....
my main problem is that i get to bored and i run around an area, as soon as i move some1 comes up behind me.
My KS i use are
Harrier
Chopper Gunner
Nuke
Im usually using a Scar with Silencer
Scavenger
Stopping Power (Should i replace with Cold Blood?)
Ninja
Claymores for equipment.
i need some nuke tips
Do u prefer HC or Normal?
What Gametype? im usually playing HQ or Domination.
what perks do you use?
I did pretty well using
ACR - Silencer
Hardline
Ninja
1man Army
when i got harriers i swiched over to the same class only with Danger Close and noob tube. got to 22 kills and some1 came up behind me right before me 23rd kill
but after that i havnt been able to even get my chopper gunner
any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Camp. Camp hard and get as many kills with your killstreaks as possible.

Get 6 kills with Hardline, then let your KS do the rest.

Yeah have those KS up. I was playing with my friend MR Fragnasty and he got 3 nukes. And he did the same thing. But i think he was using a M4 and a sniper.

I havnt gotten a nuke yet either. I never equip it. My thinking is: why do I want to end a game in which I'm beasting it? Once I stop prestiging Ill go for it for the challenges but otherwise I'm not worried about it.

Hmm, how about get in the back of a warthog, lol.
Seriously though, I haven't ever gotten close. The best I have ever done is like maybe a 19-20 streak. I just don't have the ability to stay alive or stay undetected in that game.

First off you need to change your 'run around' style of play. Yes, it can be pretty effin' boring looking out the same 2-3 doors/windows but thats the way it usually is.
Secondly, find a gun you like to use. Then create two classes with the same weapon except that you want two different second perks (One has stopping power, one has hardline).
You want OMA on both those classes and then just play switch up between them. Go 5 kills with the SP class, OMA to the one with hardline get that Harrier and then continue to Chopper Gunner. If you fall short of the 25 mark by more than 5 kills switch back to SP so that it's easier to kill people. Just make sure you OMA back at kill #23 and score that nuke.
Most importantly, roll with a team. A full party is best as you can politely ask them to stop killing (if its a Deathmatch), help protect you (I've had 3 out of 5 friends kill themselves and switch to riot shields to hold off the enemy), hold off on their killstreaks etc. (You really don't want someone calling in a Cobra/Apache/Pave Low when you're getting your Chopper Gunner).
I've got about 30 nukes so far and most of them have come in Ground War or Core TDM. Hardcore isn't really that nuke friendly. You CAN easily get a nuke in regular TDM as long as your party understands that's your aim.

as you play try to pay attention to where you play the strongest on different maps/ gametypes and where the enemies tend to move most. if your gonna camp thats where your gonna want to camp (if you want to stoop that low lol). pack a claymore so you dont have to keep checking your back.
as for stopping power ive been finding that with certain guns its entirely unnecessary, use the slot for something more useful.
also dont layer your killstreak rewards, as in if you have a harrier up, dont call in another streak until its on its way out, as soon as air support leaves people move away from cover rather quickly for the most part.
also speak up, if your with a team let them know your going for it and ask for someone to watch your back

Honestly all you gotta do is manage to get your harrier...When you get it then chill in a spot and still try to kill people just to add on to that streak. After you kill someone, switch to a different spot, but somewhere you can see your old spot, because 9/10 times that player will come right back and look at where you just were. Kill him again and maybe switch it up, going high, going low. Once you get your chopper gunner find a nice little hiding spot and go to work.
If you do not get the nuke, but are a couple kills away and your chopper gunner ends, stay calm. And try the same method as before, just be careful.

My first and only nuke was on that one map with the river in the middle? I had my intervention and scavenger and claymores. I stayed up around the house on the high side of the map the entire game. Like Chachi said, don't linger in one place too long but don't move too far away.

The question you need to ask yourself is...why do you need the cold-blooded perk? You have claymores, so they shouldn't be able to rush you easily, unless ofc you're ridiculously close to a corner and a lightweight/commando guy runs past your claymores.
If you really want to use a silenced gun use a FAMAS, M16, ACR or TAR-21. ACR cos its got no recoil and you can track and hit easily. The others cos they still carry a reasonable damage over distance.
Honestly, I say use your SCAR, take off the silencer, bring your claymores/smores. Unless you're running around playing Ninja Assassin there's no need to use CB/Lightweight. Danger Close is more of a fun/clearing out room thing and not a good perk to rely on for a nuke run.
Run SP or Hardline based on your preference. I just like SP because I can still drop a painkiller-d knifer rushing towards me with about half a clip.
CB is best employed when the enemy has killstreaks going and/or when you're running a sneaky objective rush. Oh and in SnD. But in TDM where your objective is to slay, SP/Hardline trumps all for the second slot.

I've gotten probably around 50-70 nukes.
I roll marathon Stopping power, Ninja, on my FAMAS
I play hard until i get the harriers, and then camp mode gets turned ON lol
Its really easy once you get your first one. Good luck!
Any tips on when to "use" the harriers? Because sometimes people literally shoot them down as soon at they enter the battle field.
On ground war, both domination and death match...

I found my personal tactic...
Scavenger and claymores.
Today on derail, I got my stealth bomber with 7 claymore kills. They sent a picket attack towards the stairs of the central building and all I was doing was pressing the right bumper... This all happen less than 30 seconds.
If only MW2 had theater mode. :|

Yeah, nukes almost always depend on whether you get stuck with a Dumbass/newbie enemy team. Once you realize they don't shoot shit down, slap on that harrier/CG/Nuke next round.

This is the truth. If you get anyone on the enemy team that shoots stuff down, it's most likely not going to happen.

Cuz the only killstreaks after 11 are EMP and Nuke. The Nuke gets you kills, the EMP, technically speaking, doesn't. And you don't have to trigger it when you get it, you can pull it when you want. I pulled it when we had 3 domination points and a score of 199 and the nuke overrides everyother factor in the game (If one team would win during that ten seconds of nuke dropping, it doesn't count. The team with the player that acheived the nuke will win)
Whether the enemy has stinger classes ready or not, harriers are still your best bet.
PS/// Your first nuke is always the hardest to get.

You'll probably hate this, but this is how i've gotten most of my about 20 nukes.
What I do is i use noob-tubes and one man army from certain locations. Ever been spawntubed when going for a flag in the start of a game of domination? Well, there's the start. You can easily get your harrier just by shooting the same spot the half opening minute of a domination match. Then its all cake from there on. Harrier brings you chopper gunner, chopper gunner brings you the nuke. There are other spots on certain maps where you can hit all terretories from. Today we were down by like 180 points on Highrise. We somehow managed to cap all 3 flags, and since I was up on the roof above C I could noob-tube both A and B and I could drop C4 down on C. We won the game. It was awesome.
Most people hate me for doing this, but its sooo much fun!
Feel free to hate me now
(oh, and before you judge me, I can do good with a regular rifle aswell ;) )

alot of people say just camp in ground war, cant hurt, also try camping it up in a FFA, that way you can just shoot everything that moves

basically it is a lot based on how you camp, and run. If you continually destroy a team and never move then you can expect someone to come for you, and take you out. I find short range camping spots that I can control and snipers gotta work a little harder to get to me if they get tired of my spots. I found routs on some maps where i can cover myself on maps like wasteland, but nuke tips is all about adapting strategies to your team and your enemies team. If you are playing terminal and your team is spawning metal detectors and running down book store and burger town then there is only one place to go from there for the other team to run in. I camped the desk and managed to get a nuke there because of this, but other games that pisses people off in 2 deaths and they started trying to flank and i had no cover from team mates. A nuke is more of controlling through observing team movements and reacting accordingly. If you are using a full clip of ammo at a time due to getting swamped then greens im sure will be on the way to try to get some of your kills, and even if they arent then it is still time to shift a bit under cover.
rule number one for nuke farming though.... DONT TRY TO FARM NUKES EVERY GAME OR EVEN THE START OF ANY GAMES! you need to feel out the other team and you cant do that by sitting in one place and that makes you a large target for some of the reds on the map cause they get pissed off that you killed them twice. like i said I am a runner most times I usually run and kill untill i hit my turret where i find a safe place drop it and have it cover a populated area and I cover it. This is the first time i sit around looking for people which isnt that bad because i only camp for about 6 people max if i put my turret up wrong or if i am really unlucky and camping for 6 people is a hell of a lot better than camping for 7 on harriers then chopper gunner after you set you harrier gunners then for nuke from your chopper gunner.
After you get your chopper gunner (serously better than AC130 for nuke farming) you should be within 5 kills of getting your nuke. This is the point to stay calm and reassess the situation. It has been around 14 kills since you have effectively seen the path of their team's movement. They will be looking for you if they realize you didnt die!
decide if it is better to move or continue where you are to get those 5 kills. I have gotten a nuke once every couple nights playing and one night were i didnt have it turned on and kicked myself because of it cause all my other killstreaks didnt get a single kill for me lol.

Good strategy, yes. Bad strategy, yes.
Camping can be very effective if you're playing a team of potatoes. Your average player will seek revenge, and if you're camping they will keep going to your spot until they kill you.
Movement is key. Hold a spot for 5 kills, then move to another and hold that spot. Then switch it up again. Maybe go back to your original spot and kill them as they go to the spot you were just in.
Throw down claymores in any spot where the enemy can get to you from behind, or the sides. Use a silencer just in case there is an enemy (who doesn't know you're there) near by. Using a silencer is an effective way to keep yourself unexposed.
I've gotten over 100 nukes and I've never stayed in the same spot for an entire game.

Smart camping takes some strategy. Like Doom said, get a couple kills in a spot (But never really in the exact same spot). Then move to a spot where you can see where your old spot was, and kill the fools coming back seeking revenge. Do this until you reach your Harrier or whatever. Hope that gets you to your chopper gunner, and then go to town.

also make sure you mention that ur on your way to your team, nothing is worse than being on a streak and having a teammate break the spawn trap and getting u surprised

also USE YOUR EARS! If you have turtle beaches then mute the greens and turn the game volume up cause it helps a lot because not many people use ninja unless its search.
