2010 GGN 1 v 1 FFA Tournament of Champions
“seek the wolf in thy self”

You’re Invited!
The GGN prides itself on making an expressed committment to uphold the notions of sportsmanship and respect for one’s opponents.
That doesn’t mean GGN members are without a competitive edge.
If you are a member of an affiliated GGN clan you are invited to join.
The GGN Tournament of Champions will crown the GGN’s Lone Wolf master for 2010.
We strongly encourage every member to entertain the thought of entering the tournament even if you feel someone in your clan has a much better chance of winning than you.
While this is a competitive tournament it’s still about the GGN and coming together to play with people that share our common purpose to promote longevity and friendship

Description
-This is a 1 v. 1 Tournament (Free for All meaning every man for himself....not Halo Gametype related)
-The Tournament of Champions is FREE and will be open to as many members who wish to enter
-The Tournament will be scheduled to be played space out over a period of two weeks depending on how many members enter
-The exact dates for each round will be posted after registration is complete
-The Tournament bracket will be updated as each round progresses
-Each round will be scheduled for a particular date (example....First Round to be scheduled for June 7) It is up
to each player to get their opponents GT and to set up an agreed time for that date to play each other and submit the results

Rules
1. All players must use the Spartan armor
2. Each round will feature a different map for the first three rounds (maps to be determined)
3. Players will start every round with BR’s
4. Each match is “Best of 3” rounds with 25 kills winning a round and no time limit
5. Depending on how many sign up all efforts will be made to avoid intraclan matches in the first round
6. The standards of the GGN are to be adhered. While this is a competitive tournament it is still strictly for fun
and the honor of representing the GGN as one of the best

-Bracket will be posted on June 4, 2010
-First round tentitively scheduled for Monday, June 7

For the BTB, I'll probably have it to where clans can have multiple teams enter. And I'll proabably do some sort of seeding where everyone votes on the top seeds before I fill out the bracket so I don't pit two top notch BTB teams against each other....cough...Retribution.....cough....Revelation.....

We need some OcR representin' in this 1 v 1 Tourney. Your clan is too good to not have tons of people sign up. Will it be a little less intense with 1 v 1? yeah.....but you get to see the posted bracket with all the OcR members on it......maybe even have 4 OcR members in the Final Four?......hmmm......

i actually went there to challenge and tried to set up a friendly grifball match and Odin Runebearer relplied to it but they did not accept the challenge :(
but also i havnt been bumped to anything since then but also have not been active. ill start browsing around their threads and post some friendly "hellos" and see if they will let me sign up

as well as, If you know a clan in the GGN with a grifballers or you want to play then Revelation is down with some friendly/competitive scrimms. just send me a FR and a message and we can even make some writeups etc.

We don't "allow" it by any means, but we cannot control what people change their GamerTags to. We have had MANY people change their GamerTags to include OcR before, whether or not they were accepted into Recruitment. We highly discourage people to change their GamerTags before they are accepted as a Member.

indeed, i made my account OcR b4 i got accepted knowing that if i didnt get accepted that it would just stay the one month and i would let it die (my brother stole my old account that i had running since the begining of halo 2 and my other account had ran out)

i dont believe so, its a community event and being a recruit you arent technically a full fledged "member", it doesnt mean we love you any less though. i think its one of those things the OL's would know about, but if you cant partake, dont worry we still get plenty of community events and such

You are correct.

Yes...I've had the info out for quite some time so I closed the registration early due to a couple factors.

Personally, I have alot coming up with our LAN and I wanted to get the tourney stuff squared away before I left...Also, interest was beginning to wane as well...

A fellow Gunslinger and I are going to finalize the maps this weekend at our LAN if we're sober enough..I'll post and let you know when I have it...

And the reasoning for the "rules" are because one of the main reasons for throwing these types of tournaments together are to really get some communication between clans of the GGN and to get to know guys outside of your own crew...That being said, I wanted people to register and introduce themselves at Midworld and to get some talk going.
For me....a tournament or event is more fun if you know who you're playing....

And there's also enough "serious" tourneys to get in out there where I want this one to be a bit more laid back....If the maps or weapons weren't quite what you were expecting just let me know and I'll try and fix it for next time...

But, like I said, I'm hoping to get through all of the kinks with this first one......

In the end....it's Halo so even with awkward, boring, or non MLG settings it will still take a "skilled" player to win....
