By now I'm sure many of you have heard the rumors or expected the inevitable. With the impending birth of my daughter I will be taking some time off from OcR. Eight years ago I started this story, amazingly the most time I've ever been away from Halo was 2 weeks. Today marks a break in the journey, not the end. I do not want any of you to think I am leaving; I could never and will never do that. However as I enter the uncertainty of fatherhood I want to concentrate on one thing, my daughter. When will the break be over? Only time will tell, I'd love to say I will be back to my normal activity by Reach but honestly I can't make that promise.

I have stepped down from Retribution effective as of last week. I will remain fairly active on the forums, but I would not expect to see me on XBL for some time. Maybe I'm wrong and I will be able to stop in for Sunday night clan nights, who knows. I am very sure that I won't be playing the 10-15 hours a week that you are all accustom to seeing me. During my leave I ask that you present any questions or concerns to Rocketr and Rhino. Please do not PM me with clan related questions or issues. If you just want to shoot the shit by all means.

I leave you with the below video(thanks to bigcountry for producing) as my way of saying thanks to all of you. Words can never express my gratitude for the friendships and memories. Keep in mind this isn't meant to be a "I'm bad ass look at my skills" montage, I think you guys already know that I'm bad ass. I give you my word that eventually I will return to my normal activity level. Expect pictures of OcR Ava as soon as she is ready to come out. As of this post she is past her due date! Stubborn already, greeeat.

Lack of Sleep for the first month is really bad. My wife and I would wake up thinking the kid was in the blankets with us and we would be desperately trying to dig him out till we realized he was in his bassinet next to us. We also would wake up and hand a wad of blankets to each other thinking it was the baby. Lack of sleep really fucks with your head. Best of luck it will get better than again my son was up every 3 hours for the first year.

Just an update,

Things are going great. Finally getting a routine down and baby Ava is sleeping 3-4 hours at a time. Pics are up on facebook already www.facebook.com/residualenvy so shoot me a FR if you aren't a friend yet. I'll get them posted to here soon.

I'm going back to work on my work from home job Tuesday so I'll be back on the site more often then.

We haven't really talked or played in a while but from the little bit of time we have played together I can tell you will be a great father because of how you treat everyone in OcR. You don't play favorites (much!! lol,jk) and you respect everyone and their opinions. You care about people's feelings and try to see all sides of an argument. You're a leader, mentor, friend, hero, husband, gamer, bad a**, and now you are a father. You are just an all around great person and I'm glad that I was able to meet you even if it wasn't in person.
