OcR ROWEBLAST

This months MoM winner has been on a bit of a cold streak. That is, until this month! Our four-time MoM runner-up now gets to take his place in the spotlight.
It is my pleasure to introduce our very deserving Member of the Month winner, OcR HalfBreed!
************************************************
OcR ROWEBLAST: We’ll start easy… What’s you name (first only is fine)? Do you have any nicknames you would share?
OcR Halfbreed: Well, my name's David but I have been given some rather colorful nicknames since becoming a member, many of them from my fellow MW2 teammates, but I think the only PC one may be Deerflab, so lets go with that.
OcR ROWEBLAST: Yes, let's keep this reasonably politically correct. Where are you from? How old are you?
OcR Halfbreed: Hmmm, I grew up and spent the first 19 or so years of my life in Chicago and my dad still lives there, but I moved out here to sunny southern California about 2 years ago for a change of scenery. But honestly this place bores me to tears. I live right in between LA and San Diego which means both are just out of reach for any comfortable spur of the moment visits which makes me a sad panda.
Im 21 right now but I already feel like an old man, I guess that happens when you let yourself go. HAHA...
OcR ROWEBLAST: What keeps you busy? What are you doing for a living?
OcR Halfbreed: Right now I'm unemployed, I wont bore you with the details but that's the plain truth of it. Outside of the working world I'm a Student at Santa Ana College here in Orange County where I'm studying fire technology, so I get to watch stuff burn and then light fires to learn how to combat them. What can I say, once a pyro always a pyro.
OcR ROWEBLAST: When did you join our ranks here at OcR? How did you find out about OcR? What made you want to join and stay here?
OcR Halfbreed: I joined OcR a little under a year ago. The first time I ever heard of our little community was back when I had first started gaming and had found a community called the H3WM, they were my first introduction to the GGN and all its holiness. After some time a buddy of mine that goes by the name Roweblast (ahem) came over here and became a member, so I decided that I had better see what all the hubbub was about.
After joining the forums and sticking around for a bit I knew I had found my home.
OcR ROWEBLAST: What a coincidence considering your interviewer! Which is your favorite game-type to play with the clan?
OcR Halfbreed: Hey, I haven't been a halo 3 player in a while, but I do play a lot of MW2, and I do love me some Search and Destroy. The best feeling in gaming is when its just you against the other team, and everyone is watching, your heart is beating and you're able to defeat the odds and clutch it out. Nothing can beat it… in the virtual world at least.
OcR ROWEBLAST: Generally, what did you think of the Halo: Reach beta? Are you excited to see the final game release?
OcR Halfbreed: Generally I thought it was a good idea, it was presented a little roughly but I have hope for the game in the long run. I have the legendary edition pre-ordered but I wouldn't say I'm excited for the final release.
OcR ROWEBLAST: On to the personal stuff… Any life or career goals you would like to share? Where would you like to be in 5 years? 10 years? Longer?
OcR Halfbreed: At this point in my life I'm not 100% on what I want to do. But 5 years from now I'd like to be in a comfortable place career wise, either in the military or working for a fire department. 10 years from now I would like to be in the same place as I would be 5 years from now, only more successful and with a family of my own. Honestly though, I'm interested in too many things to have any idea where I'm gonna be down the road, but one goal I have right now is to get back into regular exercise routine.
OcR ROWEBLAST: A noble venture indeed. What motivates you to succeed, both in gaming and in life in general?
OcR Halfbreed: A lot of what motivates me in both gaming and life is simply not wanting to let myself or others down. Also I find that once you find something your truly interested in the motivation just comes with the territory.
OcR ROWEBLAST: Sum yourself up in one word, and only one (no hyphenations either). Why did you choose that word?
OcR Halfbreed: Oreo, you know… ;) haha I'm proud of who I am.
OcR ROWEBLAST: Anything you would like to change about yourself?
OcR Halfbreed: I have a pretty colorful past but I wouldn't change a thing. I'm a strong believer that its our past experiences that make us the people we are today. Living with the past isn't always easy but making and learning from our mistakes is how we grow.
OcR ROWEBLAST: What kind of advice would you give to new members about OcR?
OcR Halfbreed: Being the new guy (or girl) around can feel overwhelming. you see all these groups and don't know where to start. Heres a tip, fill out your new member thread and put some thought into it, that little thread shows effort on your part and allows us as a community to get to know you. also don't hesitate to jump in where you feel is appropriate, but don't spam, you don't want to send that kind of message… trust me.
And to OcR hopefuls, gaming is important, but forum activity is even more so. So keep that in mind when you apply.
OcR ROWEBLAST: Story time. You’re in the spotlight. Embarrassing story about you. Go.
OcR Halfbreed: Well one time I was having this dream that I was talking on my cell phone, yeah boring I know, and it must've been really realistic because I came to sitting up talking into my hand and a bunch of buddies staring at me. and it didn't sink in that I wasn't holding a phone for a couple seconds after that. HAHA nothing like making a fool of yourself when your unconscious.
OcR ROWEBLAST: Now it’s time for your last remarks… anything you want to say that we haven't yet covered?
OcR Halfbreed: Well as always, I'd like to thank the Overlords and staff, you guys do an amazing job and I love you for it. My day would be boring beyond comprehension without the forums.
Ruin, you guys are my buds and some of my best times here have been spent in our MW2 lobbies and theres always something to chuckle about with you guys around.
Lasty I would like to thanks all the active members, you guys are what make gaming fun for me, my hate for randoms is no small secret so I think its safe to say i wouldn't be gaming if it weren't for all of you. You should be ashamed, haha. Seriously though Thank you all for putting up with me day after day and… If anyone wants to play some MW2 send me an invite plz plz plz!!!
