I-inc iH-252HPB 25" Widescreen LCD Monitor (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4938551&pagenumber=2&RSort=1&csid=ITD&recordsPerPage=5&body=#ReviewStart)

Brand isn't a big deal to me...I was hoping those with more experience than I have with monitors (little) would be able to hook a brotha up.

The price seems great, which is why I'm asking about it.

there are so many hidden details with monitors and tv's, like bad input lag or false information, that i generally won't go with odd brands like this

more popular brands generally have more extensive testing done by internet sources

Someone gave it a 3.0/5 for quality.

I think this about sums up my thoughts...

485 reviews and it still got a 4.3.. Google the same monitor and look for reviews on other sites is my only opinion. But Apparently those who have bought it think it is great for the price.

Yeah, but I still want some opinions on it. I saw a couple of people reported a few dead pixels, and the speakers stopped working on a couple others (which isn't a big deal as I won't be using them).

Seems a little fishy that a monitor with such good qualities is so cheap...(I realize its a no-name brand, but still).

No company is perfect, and every monitor I've looked into has always had a few reviews stating the monitor arrived with dead pixels, it just happens.

But I'm gonna have to go with Rabbit on this one, I assume your gonna be using this for gaming? If so you need to find a review from some one who actually uses this for gaming and knows what there talking about. This monitor might be amazing for basic web browsing but when you get into FPS's it could be really bad. I think most monitors out there claim there great for gaming, but you have to remember that gaming could be anything from playing chess on your PC to some insanely fast FPS or some thing lol.

I purchased a 19" Vizio a few months back that claimed it was great for gaming and it was terrible lol. I returned it after one game of Halo.

Just wanted to add I just purchased this monitor after the Vizio and love it:

It's more but at least you can get it locally and don't have to worry about shipping/arriving messed up and if it is messed up you just take it right back and get a new one.

I would stay away from not well known brands. Granted, not all of them are bad, but generally they're that cheap for a reason. ;)

Also, just a heads-up to everyone, you have to take a lot of user reviews with a grain of salt because 90% of the people have no clue of what they're talking about. As Dragon and Rabbit mentioned, there are a lot of other factors that go into a solid gaming monitor (input lag is the main one). I would stick with a proven brand and product for gaming as you can often times get them for a good price if you keep an eye out.

Again, this is all under the assumption of the fact that you'll be gaming on it. :P

Assumption was correct, I was looking to game on it. Thanks for the help guys. I'll keep it all in mind.

It seems like a good price to me, has really good specs, and to me based on the reviews if there are that many people happy with it whether they have tech experience or not, then it has to be good.

An idiot can see a difference between a crappy monitor and an amazing one, and with so many impressed customers, I would say go for it. But also search google a little more, don't take just the advice from people on Tigerdirect.com. If all the reviews you find seem good go for it, I mean I would if I had the money.

Just another thought, the one brand that I have used that is fairly cheap and has been very reliable for me is Acer. I have had a 20in LCD for 4 years, and I haven't any problems with it. My second LCD is a refurbished 23in that I have had for 5 months. So far nothing has gone wrong with it. They have very good picture quality too. So check out some Acer Monitors and see if you can get one for similar value.
