Map Packs.

I'm pretty new to CoD when it comes to there map packs and how they work in multiplayer. Will there be a playlist for the new maps that come out or are they just put into all of the playlists? I'm just wondering if its like Halo or not, how they have a playlist where you can just play the new maps and nothing else.

I'm thinking about getting the one releasing tomorrow, but don't wanna waist my money if there is little chance of playing them in multiplayer. I know in Reach I've played the new maps once outside of the DLC playlist, so to me that's not worth it.

Thanks for the quick response! Also I'm a noob, I just logged in and noticed the Escalation playlist. I'll most likely be up tonight playing the new map pack if anyone wants to join (I'm usually up that late).

ya they have their own sub section with domination, search and TDM for new maps as well, but i dont remember getting it too terribly often in normal matchmaking
another experience I had is with World at War where I would constantly be thrown into matches where i dont have the map pack and then thrown back out cause i didnt care to get map packs 1 and 2 cause all i wanted was 3 for Der Rise

Sadly, I only have the First Strike map pack. :/ I'll hop on to play sometime though!

Well for anyone who is thinking about buying these I have to say there really good maps so far. Also if your a big fan of sniping this map pack is for you lol. I heard there's gonna be double experience this weekend so I'll definitely be playing the new maps the whole time.

I am just too cheap to pay $15 for each map pack. Especially when the new COD hits in a few months. They will probably try to drag one last $15 map pack out of everyone a month before launch.

I don't mind spending the $15 if the maps are actually good. MW3 seems close but its still like 5+ months away lol, so that's still pretty far. This is my first map pack so far for black ops and I definitely enjoyed them and think they did a good job.

Double exp this weekend starting tomorrow so if anyone wants to play let me know. I plan on playing a lot this weekend.
