For everyone who has the intercooler that plugs into the back of your xbox 360. Take it off. It froze up my hard drive. Im so pist off right now. The beta comes out on wednesday and i dont have my hard drive. I'm so pist off. They are sending me a box, so i can send them my hard drive so they can fix it. THANK GOD FOR WARANITY. But i found a solution for me to still play. I'm going out and buying a memory card so i can recover my account on there, so i can play the halo 3 beta. Sorry i had to vent. This is a warning to all members. TAKE OFF THE INTERCOOLER THAT CONNECTS THROUGH YOUR POWER UNIT, IT WILL FRY YOUR EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. Take it from someone who it did it to. Buy the stand one. Its a lil more expensive, but it wont fry your hard drive. The reason it does this is because it uses your power source. When it uses your power source its making your xbox run harder. So get rid of it.

This was a known issue actually. The company that makes innercooler will replace your stuff as well. You should look up their contact number.
Make sure you get atleat a 1GB+ Memory Card as the Beta is 911MB.
Those who are interested I use the Pelican System for an extra fan.

How exactly does that happen? I have one of those but haven't noticed any problems.

It hooks directly into your power supply. Because of this if the connection isn't really tight it will send more juice then you need thus overheating!

Oh yeah of course lol. I thought it was like if just by using it, the thing would mess up your system. Yeah I have mine in as tight as it can go and I check every time before I turn it on ;) I also will check while playing how hot it is getting (which it never even gets hot) but I still check just in case.
I never liked anything that made your system stand up personally, I found it to scratch my games a lot more than having it sit normal. That's why I didn't get one of those stands with the fans in them.

No by using it, it does mess it up. It being loose isnt the reason. Since it uses your power source. It makes your xbox run harder. Makes it run ahrder to power the 3 fans, and to power your xbox properly. I would just get rid of it to save you a headache, and saving you to send in your xbox.

I think he means those portable USB memory sticks that you can download stuff to and plug it into anything that has a USB port.
I know they have them at Best Buy, and I don't think there expensive.
I would take the fan off but I don't want it to over heat because you can barely play it with out it over heating like crazy. Also I know there were tons of problems with this when it first hit the market, but they have made a lot of changes to it since then. Also if the 360 wasn't getting enough power then it would simply not work. Or give you those flashing red lights, which means in that case its not getting enough power. I've ran the system with and with out the intercooler and didn't notice a single difference in performance. I think it's really good it's just you really need to be careful using it and keep a close eye on it.

Does the intercooler come attached to the Pro system? Or do you have to buy it separate?

It's a seperate product. It is just some thing that you buy to keep your system cool. It's like $20 at GameStop.
