Me and my friends from my twp have to play my friends from another twp. My twp plays airsoft in urban settings, we are more running around like manhunt w/ guns, its fun...but we haven't played much paintball which is all they play.. Isn't paintball pretty much like you see someone and get behind closest cover and expect to be there a while? Like you can't really move much and get in long ass standoffs? Anybody good at paintball so you can tell me what to do to not get lit up?

Are good teams super slow paced though? Like you sit in shootouts in the same general area forever? My people with airsoft don't do that at all, when we play we play no limits within the boundary we are playing, it's pretty normal for you to get shot from one of my random neighbors roofs or from under a truck or something. We dont really have drawn out firefights it's more being quick and thinking smart to out-position than anyhting.

I played tournament paintball for years so I should be able to answer any questions you have about paintball in general. As far as your question about standoffs....yes....and no.

Speedball games do not last long at all. Somebody should be shot out on the break(start of the game). Set your team up as best as possible, lay cover fire on all bunkers and call out what you see, then make moves. You learn to use your quick thinking. Hesitation = you getting shot out.

Be aware of where your team is, where they are shooting and look for angles. Speedball fields are set up strategically and each bunker has its benefits. Look for cross field shooting, don't just look straight ahead.

If you stay in the same spot the whole game, you will lose. If the other team takes control of the snake, you will lose.

Set up, call out, think on your feet, be aware and be smart.

^ Thats cool thats what they show on ESPN right? Those guys are ridiculous...it's probably going to be in backwoods near one of our houses though. I only have experience with urban settings and airsoft, like I've only just messed with paintball fights in backyards...
Things I really don't know..
General range of most players?
How safe it is to move around when someone is shooting you? Is a roll or dive from cover to cover good enough, or can you move with suppressive fire from your team?
Um any general tips to sneak up on people /hide /get out of a bad situation? I don't know I think most of this would carry over from urban airsoft but I know there are some specefic things that I learned playing in that enviornment so maybe there are some things specefic to paintball in the woods?

I play as well. I know Tragedy is competitive I personally play recreational.

I think to really sum up your question about speed it all depends on the field you play on. Play speedball the game is fast paced. Play woods and the game gets slowed down more.

Almost everyone who'se played a few times is on the same skill level. It comes down to equipment and teamwork that makes people stand out. Best advice I can give DONT STAY IN THE SAME PLACE FOR LONG. Move around crouch and run from object - object advancing or retreating until you get the right spot for a kill.

Airsoft is more out in the open because it doesn't hurt as much as paintball when you get tagged. In paintball that's more serious so people take more care trying not to get shot.
