Alright, I really never deleted items out of my computer, but I think that it's getting full, and I just wanted to know how to clean it out and delete items that I don't need anymore. So, basically, how do I do it, and how do I know that it's actually giving more free space?

God I don't know crap about computer specs. -_-.

Welp I would firt suggest checking to see how much free space you got left.

Open My Computer from your Desktop. On the left hand side Right click on C:\(Local Disk) and click properties. This will tell you how much is used/free.

Next get rid of those damn IE temporary files! Internet Explorer stores almost EVERYTHING you see when visiting a web site. To clear them in a browser window go to Tools - Internet Options. Then click 'Delete Files' check the box that says Delete all offline content and click Ok. This process may take several minutes.

The other thing you can do is Uninstall some uneeded stuff. Go to Start-Control Pannel-Add/Remove Programs and go through the list to remove things you no longer use. Make sure you know what your removing before you remove it!

Once you finished these steps check your free space again. You should notice a significant difference. If you STILL feel you need more space remember Images & Music take up more room than anything else so you may want to delete unwanted ones.

Your last course of action is to defrag baby! Your HD stores information in the same places many times over. As time goes on this causes 'Junk' data to collect. Defragmenting your hard drive will clean this junk up. Close ALL applications and go to Start-All Programs-Accessories-System-Defrag and let the thing run. This process may take hours.

If you STILL feel you need more space I suggest being an External HD. They are USB easy as cake now a days and cost as little as $50. I use three myself :)
